Problems with scenario creation and large files?

I am having trouble creating standard scenarios on the Riviera route - which seems pretty graphics heavy. I have no problems with many complex scenarios on other routes to date.

Problems are -
1 - locos especially steam seem reluctant to paste in when moved from the asset box
2 - if I place assets and then move to another location using the map I am often getting lots of scenery showing as missing assets (they are not).
3 - the game will freezes if I move from scenario creation to world editor to game play

I notice that all the "new routes and rolling stock files are larger than the older ones - and it feels like this might be the problem.

Anyone else having trouble or know the cure?

May or may not be any help to you, but we write scenarios with settings on low or medium on those demanding routes.
Then when we test/run the settings go back....Works well and saves a lot of grief along the way.

Thanks rosgar. Yes it seems to help turning all parameters down during any editing - and then back up to play. Just seems a particular problem in this route

Interestingly for those who may be watching these pages I actually tried creating a scenario with both the mipmaps and scenery tile folders removed (Don't do this without a backup) - and it still didn't feel entirely happy though it was much better.
Either a gremlin in my cloning - I may try a reclone - or something to do with the new security codes on graphics files.

What security codes?
