The Problems with Creating Scenarios
Take a look at this. While trying to create some AI in my scenario, the Scenario Editor simply refuses to allow the AI train to pick up passengers at a station only a few metres away, it obviously had the correct electrification, I've been checking if the track rules have been changed for over 9 months now, I selected "Both" for the direction and there is obviously no traverser or turnables here. Anyone know a solution for this? This is something that can ruin nearly a year of progress.

In your image, the instructions are for service 1 but you have highlighted service 2 just shy of the platform... So which service is the problem?

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
Ah, I see what I did there. I told Service1 (which was on the track towards Platform 1) to pick up passengers to Platform 2, thanks for spotting that. Which brings me on to another problem, the Scenario editor refuses to allow the AI to go over junctions.malkymackay wrote:In your image, the instructions are for service 1 but you have highlighted service 2 just shy of the platform... Take at look at these screenshots:

The circle on the first image highlights the junctions that the train on King St. Platform 1 will have to cross junctions on the line next to it.
The arrow on the bottom of the first image corresponds to the arrow on the second image. I can't really switch junctions while in the Scenario editor and adding a "Go via" command doesn't work (at least back in June when I last tried this).
Service1 is specifically a diesel train to see if it's due to the electrification, since I used a third rail unit on overhead electrified tracks the last time I tried this.

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
I have no idea why you're having problems but you could try adding a destination marker into the scenario just the other side of the points, use a Go Via instruction on it and see whether that helps. The dispatcher can get confused when, by eye, you wouldn't expect it to and you sometimes need to force its hand, as it were.

Thanks for replying, but your advise doesn't seem to work, since the dispatcher now thinks that I need to reverse after I placed a "Go Via" instruction.Rockdoc2174 wrote:I have no idea why you're having problems but you could try adding a destination marker into the scenario just the other side of the points, use a Go Via instruction on it and see whether that helps. If you allow reversing, what does it do?

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
It allows the AI to reverse, but that's unnecessary, as all the dispatcher needs to do is to switch the junctions, which it won't.ttjph wrote:If you allow reversing, what does it do?
Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
No, I meant: does the AI then find its way to the station somehow? If so, what route does it take? This may give you a clue to why it won't reach it the way you expect.

If you take a look at the link above, the AI is supposed to cross over the junctions, go down on the right-hand (left to the AI's point of view).

and then stop at Park Street Platform 2.

HI, second one (directionality) is most likely as previously you have said it wants to reverse into the destination or it is set to freight only.

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
For directionality, I have set it as "Up/Down", should I switch it to "Both"?markpullinger wrote:HI, second one (directionality) is most likely as previously you have said it wants to reverse into the destination or it is set to freight only.

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
Hi, setting to both would be ok but any change to directionality could give other services problems with pathing.

Re: The Problems with Creating Scenarios
I've really given up all hope on this, I changed the directionality to "Both" and it still comes up with the same problem.
