Today I managed to add Quick drive to a route of mine + I learnt the ins and outs of adding, successfully, AI Traffic within quick drive.
BUT these achievements have raised more questions (3 to be precise) that it answered and no amount of googling or Youtubeing has the solutions.
Is there anyone I can have a QD AI "discussion" with ?
Cheers John

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Good morning,
Perhaps worth asking Matt whether he might be able to cover it in one of his blog posts?

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Thanks Michael nice idea.
Thanks to xxxx (secludedsfx) day or two of my life possibly wasted, I might as well play chicken on a motorway !!
Why can't they leave it alone, or better still FIX IT when they break it.
Doh.

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Does anyone know, when it got broke ? I'm on v49.4a (apart from 50.3f Beta)
I can roll back to:
v49.4a Dated 26/11/14
v48.9a Dated 02/11/14
v48.0 Dated 20/09/14
v42.9a Dated 25/07/14
v42.5b Dated 01/07/14
Can go back further but suspect no point.
Have more reasons to live than wait for a fix.
Cheers John

Better late than never I guess...
Regarding QD, the "last known good" version of TS2015 is 48.0a. QD is broken since 48.9a.
42.9a is TS2014 and it will not work with TS2015, it will, of course work with backup copy of TS2014.

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Thanks Felix, The only 2 things I can say for certain is regardless of version number, Quick Drive Scenario Northbound from York on ECML has always worked and still does.
I have spent the last couple of months learning as much as I can about QD and have now written a few (with AI) for most UK routes and am pleased to say they all work fine.
The problem, I think, was/is with the Preload Folders and their contents, the consists, they are in a mess, dont know why, dont really care now I know what the problem is/was. Going through them all (I have 1600) and sorting them out.
Cheers

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Now there is a catch... the QD AI gereration is not broken completely.
It is just ignoring all date settings in preload file (as defined by QD scenario) and also, the random seeding of consists is no longer random (just look at it - always the same consists in same locations). Modern day routes will still spawn AI consists, however, they will be always the same (unless you add something to the preload folders, that will of course shake up the things a little bit).
The old ECML is pretty unique in this regard, as its default content can spawn consists regardless of date. However! If you own the BR Class 101 (the BR blue one), it will spawn AI consists only if the date is set correctly (ie. in 48.0a and older) - on the other hand, a lot of JT's add ons have preload consists for ECML, but in present time (such a JT Voyager or JT Class 67).
You can manually edit everz single preload consist, but this is unfortunatelly only half of the solution - there is basically nothing to do about broken random seed generation.
It is a shame, really. This feature has survived two major revisions, only to be destryed by a minor one...

Re: Quickdrive and AI
Hi Felix, I ran some tests on the date situation and if I understood you correctly I think the problem has been resolved. I DOES happen in earier versions of TS.
I have made a 3 mile 12 track QD Tester track with no scenery that allows for almost instant loading when testing (I could upload it if anyone wants to test their QD)
The pictures below show two QD Scenarios one dated 1968 and the other 2010, as you will see from the pictures TS only load AI consists for those dates, on the second picture I included on the 5 furthest track QD Spawn points for AI within both dates and that works too.
