An idiots guide to scenario creation!

I left the train simming world a good few years ago and recently returned with TS2015, I had a good idea of how to use the activity creater in MSTS and knew very well a lot of the tricks, but with TS all that knowledge means nothing!
Having Googled a fair bit I'm looking for the best guide/tutorial for scenario creation/tricks.
Would I be correct in thinking that although dated that MSTS was a lot easier for making activities and services and inserting reprating AI, for example if I wanted to place AI that repeats every 2 minutes (tube trains for example) this was very simple in MSTS, but with TS I think it requires a lot more work repeated every time the AI is placed?
Also looling for a guide on AI trains reversing direction as in the start and finish location are the same point.
