There was a wide section of embankment near Ilkeston GNR goods shed that never had tracks laid on it. From this 1949 aerial shot it looks as if it was used for engineers' stores and that the area was secured by a high fence that was creosoted from the colour so was probably made from old sleepers or something very similar. I can remember quite a few of these in the fifties when I was growing up. I can't find a suitable loft in the UKTS archives. Can anyone point me towards one?

It's not quite what I had in mind - it's too pale and too thin - but it's a lot closer than anything else I've seen so thanks for this. I want to keep dependencies to a minimum but the pack is a free download so, although pretty much everything else isn't going to be useful on the line, I can justify adding it.

No reason why it couldn't be reskinned, and to make it a thicker fence just lay a second length/use the copy and paste tools and position them side by side:

No need to copy and paste. Use the offset tool with a suitable value, and you can get an exact copy (and can repeat as many times as you wish), and can raise a copy or 2 to make it taller. I often use a 2D "messy" hedge sandwiched between 2 3D "neat" hedges offset from each other. Much more realistic.

Actually, apart from being a lot paler than I would like - hardly a major problem - it's absolutely spot on in the game. Although the route has eliminated all Kuju assets I still use Kuju figures to get an idea of scale, usually so I can alter houses to suit. As you can see here, the fence is around 7ft tall, which is as I remember them, and is a decent thickness so I'm very pleased.

Images of the work look good and I'm glad the fence works for you.

Is that Jeremy Clarskon or Peter Jones stood in front of the fence as if that's 7Ft he is nearly as tall as it is!
