Thanks Mike - time consuming though as practically every house has to be individually placed, but we are fortunate enough not to have a fixed timescale - I do hope for speedier progress though once out of Llandudno Junction, still quite a few houses to place there but should then be a fairly quick hop to Colwyn Bay where the house placement will start again.

Yes indeed - we did Chester ( East side ) for the South Lancs and North Cheshire route, hopefully we will be able to copy some of it for re-use but if not then at least I have something to refer to and won't have to do the research all over again.

It's looking really good especially at Llandudno,well done,I like the green Ford Capri in some of the photo's,

I had a White MK 2 Capri,I got it new,reg MEL --P,after getting married it had to go so got a Hillman Hunter instead.thinking of road vehicles there seems to be a lack of 70-80's vehicles,could do with a Crosville Bristol FLF bus,for this route.

Looking fantastic, memories are flooding back of when we used to travel along the coast behind many a Class 40.

I even noticed you've replaced the bridge just past Llandudno Junction station heading East to the type it should be, top notch stuff guys, even seeing to the finer details, I'll use that bridge in the original version.

One thing, DTG's representation of Holywell station is awful, any plans to make it a little more how it looked in the 80's?

Thanks, and yes - we are rebuilding stations as necessary, Nick has already rebuilt Colwyn Bay Station to accommodate the 80's track configuration.

The last remaining section of Llandudno Junction scenery up to the junction with the Conway Valley Line and the Conway Road bridge is now complete - for anybody unfamiliar with the area the factory to the North of the line is the Hotpoint factory which has since closed and been demolished. I am at Holywell Junction this evening - recreating the trackwork at the Courtaulds mills there (and later at Flint). Will also redo the station to conform with its state in 1980

The old station building is iconic (3 or 4 other, similar ones are on the route), but DTG didn't bother to model them. We will fudge something (as usual) to look as close as possible

Mostyn was similar to Holywell station which is just down the road, I think that was painted red whilst Holywell was black & white.

We have a number of images for all the stations/facilities along the line, which we are using to place suitable assets in place.
Both Mostyn and Holywell Junction station buildings were dark red brick, with stone features picked out in white, with white woodwork

Just to put things into perspective. In the 1980s, the main road along the North Wales Coast, the A55, was scheduled for dualling. In some parts, there wasn't enough space to just increase the width of the road, so different routes had to be developed. See Railway versus Road http://www.derbysulzers.com/rhyl55.html . Around Colwyn Bay, that meant using part (and in some cases all) of the bed of the former 4 track rail line, so a new trackbed for the 2 lines had to be created. I have had to do the reverse, removing the dual carriageway, altering the route of the track from Llandudno Junction to Colwyn Bay, putting back many millions of cubic metres of earth, and dealing with all the other buildings that had been removed.
