Creating a Route Blueprint

Post by jnjkerbin »

Hello,

I've been driving in TS for some years now and wanted to start creating my own route. I've been fiddling around a little bit over the last few days with varying degrees of success. I am having some trouble creating a route blueprint using RW Tools.

I have been trying to use RW Tools to create a developer folder and a route blueprint. However, despite my efforts, no folders are created and I get the error message "#76 Path not found. Module:frmRoute Procedure: Command4_Click".

Thanks you in advance for any help

Just create your own folder structure with Windows Explorer, and copy and edit an existing route template.

There has been a new release so check that you have Version 7.0.26
Website
Check that you have set the paths
Options Tab
View all Paths (Viewer for your paths)

To set the paths for the programs you have!
Options Tab
PDF Reader Path
Preload Folder
TS2017 Path
Texture Editor Path
Viewer Path

Then recheck Path Viewer to confirm paths are correct

Set up your Developer Folder this will appear under Railworks\Assets\Your Name\
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\AusWest\POwagon_01
This is my developer folder (AusWest) Project (POwagon) note the drive letter (C:) to suit your railworks drive location

This will confirm the RW editor is working
You should be able to plug all the details in the Direct Route Setup and create you route developer file
Note you need to path the weather and terrain files

Mike has some tutorials on his site
Look at the route creation videos on youtube

Uktrainsim Tutorials
A Beginners Guide to Route Preparation

Worth reading as it defines the file structure
Have a look at the file structure of your DLC for ideas
Set up a route directory for practise and try some ideas

Create a back-up with 7-Zip of the entire railworks Folder
Store in back another location as back-ups by date
Back-up the route before you start a new session and place in the back-up folder
If things go pear shaped you can restore you work

Cheers Aus
