Hello everyone. After years of MS train sim, I'm having a go at route building in TS 2014.
Having some real problems with the track laying. I'm altering the Settle Carlisle route to as it was in the 60's - so first off was relaying double track over the Ribblehead viaduct - which I managed, after a lot of frustration. Then I set about putting in the up and down loops at Blea Moor. Again - I thought - I finally managed it, the points drew properly, with frogs, and I set about a test activity. A free roam scenario works fine: I can set all the points as necessary. But when I tried a standard scenario, the points on the loop at Blea Moor set to the loop by default, rather than the main line.
Probably something simple I'm doing wrong - anyone 'point' me in the right direction please?

Re: Setting points to default route
I've just encountered something similar while writing a scenario for 'Western Rails'.
A certain point (on a single line) always seem to show set for the loop, regardless
of whether the train wanted the loop or not.
I overcame this by inserting a short track marker on the main, and in the
scenario, specified routing the train via this marker (and hiding it).

Re: Setting points to default route
Thanks - strange thing is now, I've just made another activity and the A1 train runs on the main line OK... sometimes. Next time I tried it, as the train got to the point, the game crashed and said the A1 train had left the route at the point.
Hasn't done it since then though.
I'll keep working at it and see what happens. If I find the cause I'll report back here.

Trains are routed according to train classification and line classification. Maybe your second scenario had the train running under a different class.riggs386 wrote:Thanks - strange thing is now, I've just made another activity and the A1 train runs on the main line OK... sometimes. The solution is, as suggested, to insert a scenario marker and route the train that way.
I understood the message about AI trains leaving their path should no longer occur in TS2015 but in earlier incarnations this referred to being unable to maintain the schedule and not the route they took.
