Re: Norfolk Lines
Been following the progress of this route for quite sometime, I have to say it's very very impressive.

Re: Norfolk Lines
Hi Fakenham, As a creator myself (of music), I can imagine you must be frustrated that another version of the Wherry lines has just been released after all your hard work (very much appreciated by us all) - however, might you consider converting yours to a 60s / 70s pre electrification version. This would mean a few changes eg Breydon Junction layout, livening up of stabling and freight sidings at Norwich, Yarmouth and Reedham and the diesel stabling point to replace the Yarmouth supermarket and platform canopies at Yarmouth. BUT over 95% of the route could be unchanged and become a home for our 03s, 31s, 37s, 101s, 105s etc!! As they say on my favourite film, Galaxy Quest "Never give up, never surrender!" Best wishes, Malcolm.

Re: Norfolk Lines
A-mazing, present era or 60s etc this is a must have route regardless of other offerings, I think there is room for both. I must admit I would prefer 1960s but what a shame all that work on the overheads would be lost.
A must have for the pure build quality alone.
Well b***y done

Love your Norfolk Lines Route!
Watched the videos several times now and you really have captured the look and realism of an iconic British rural route!
So much so it is my intention to go and ride the real route this summer!
Please, please, will you will release this route? - imho it really is a fantastic work worthy of being a payware release!
Best regards

Re: Norfolk Lines
You may want to check out AP's version, runs to Lowestoft as well as Yarmouth. Arguably the best route available.
This will be undoubtedly brilliant (if it ever gets released), but the amount of payware assets required will be huge, probably more than the £30 AP want for theirs. And it's shorter.
Something tells me though that this freeware route may well not be released now. Shame if so.

Re: Norfolk Lines
Thanks for your comments - I hope that Fakenham will release the route notwithstanding. Have compared the two routes by reference to the videos
available and agree that AP's route is excellent - what sways me to the other is the attention to detail, in particular the Sugar Factory at Cantley- AP's does look
somewhat more like a Cement Works! It is that one issue for me which is holding me from buying the AP Route.
Hope there will be room for both routes - perhaps Fakenham could put me out of my misery now if he isn't proceeding? - in my view that would be a shame.

May I just ask - how do you know that payware requirements will be huge, or that the route may not get released?hle19 wrote:You may want to check out AP's version, runs to Lowestoft as well as Yarmouth. Arguably the best route available.

If you genuinely know this, because you're in touch with the developer, then fair enough. If you're just guessing, then that's just troublemaking which is not welcome here - care to elaborate?

Re: Norfolk Lines
See previous pages there was a post from fakenham himself saying that there would be a decent amount of routes required. If you also read the various posts where fakenham has mentioned certain assets in screenshots - reskins of assets from various routes etc. it isn't that difficult to see that quite a few routes will be required.ashgray wrote:May I just ask - how do you know that payware requirements will be huge, or that the route may not get released?hle19 wrote:You may want to check out AP's version, runs to Lowestoft as well as Yarmouth. As for the second part - re read my post. It's a hunch, nothing more nothing less. No insider information. And if you read the top bit and read previous pages you'll see I am very much interested in this route.
Re: Norfolk Lines
On the balance of detail i think fakenhams will win it hands down. Tall order considering AP's version - one of the most detailed routes available.Tom5305 wrote:Thanks for your comments - I hope that Fakenham will release the route notwithstanding. Definitely room for both routes.
