Hi
Soon you won't be able get a drink at Burney Arms as the owners are planning to close it,they say its due to lack of customers.

It keeps altering between "Under new ownership", "Open", "Struggling" and "Closed Down". Also known as "Spring", "Summer", "Autumn" and "Winter"3digitdriver wrote:I think this may already be the case, was up there on boat earlier this year and it was shut then.michaelhendle wrote:Hi

If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
Re: Norfolk Lines
Cheers guys.
Attached is a sneak peek video of the route...apologies for the rubbish quality/frame rate, no idea why it's come out like this...looks much better on my machine. Maybe need to sort out settings in the game recorder.

Re: Norfolk Lines
Excellent.
I think it's the attention to the smaller details that make it look so real -
signal wire runs and point rodding (missing from the great majority of routes)
lineside fencing (sadly missing from some routes)
Lineside edging that runs straight rather than zig-zagging all over the place
and things like that.
And did I see rails that actually sit on the chairs rather than sitting on the sleepers?
(or is that my over-active imagination?)
Anyway Fakenham - that is absolutely brilliant - and I can't wait to play it. Cheers!

Re: Norfolk Lines
Very well done indeed. I know it's been a long time in gestation and perhaps the 'Big Boys' would argue that they can't dedicate the time to a project. Nevertheless, you have clearly demonstrated what can be achieved with time and patience and attention to detail , the latter commodity being lamentably missing in their recent 1950s route.
This looks like a fine example of computer railway modelling.

Re: Norfolk Lines
Looks amazing
you've got a real talent and good patience, the detail is fantastic, so true to the real thing. Thanks for sharing the video, after following the progress was great to see some game play.
Re: Norfolk Lines
Thanks again for the kind comments guys. Tommo, the lineside vegetation is a mixture of a lot! - South London Lines weeds feature quite a bit though, plus some of SAD's and the Czech route assets.
Attached is another video, this time around the Yarmouth area - I think I managed to improve the video quality a bit more now.

Re: Norfolk Lines
It looks absolutely spot on, the little details just make it so realistic, well done to you. I especially love the litter at the stations and the discarded rails alongside the track. Very prototypical.
My only question/suggestion would be if it is possible to add diesel/oil spill marks in between the rails at stations where the units usually stop? Although I've not been north of the border in a while so I'm not sure whether the switch from wooden to concrete sleepers in some areas will have removed that, but I'm fairly sure it would have built up again over the months.
Irregardless though, it's beautiful, probably the most photo-realistic route to date.

Re: Norfolk Lines
Just watched both videos shaking my head in disbelief - it is soooooo realistic. In particular, the old Sugar Beet factory at Cantley and the overgrown empty stock sidings ouside Yarmouth are wonderful. These sidings had 8-10 rakes stabled here Sun-Fri as they were only used for Saturday holiday traffic! This route has to be the benchmark for other builders from now on.
I lived in Yarnouth in the late sixties - these videos have given me a lump in my throat.
Fakenham, you have made an old man very happy (or a happy man very old!)

Re: Norfolk Lines
Malcolm, many thanks for your comments, very much appreciated. ElectricFox, yep I totally agree, I will try and craft a realistic set of oiled up tracks.
Attached is one more vid, this time a cab ride of an approach into Norwich..
