I don't know why you feel the need to keep re-iterating your desire for a freeware project to be put on DVD, but it's been outlined before as to why it would make no sense:

-DVDs cost money to manufacture, as far as it can be determined from this thread the route is freeware. Therefore the OP would be losing money by supplying a DVD service.
-The project is also a one man job, so how would you expect someone who probably has a full time job and a family to take the time to manufacture DVDs and ship them from home?
-Downloads from a site server like the one on UKTS can supply unlimited copies and are hosted at only the price of the premium member subscription the uploader is charged each month.
-DVDs take ages to ship to anywhere, especially if you live outside of the supplier's country. You also have to pay for shipping fees yourself, so why would you prefer that over a 15 minute download (depending on internet capacity of course) where you can have the route quickly and free of all shipping costs. And sure if you want a DVD that badly, buy some blank ones and burn the route onto one.

But I can't understand why you're asking in the first place if you said yourself that you don't even use TS2015? :-?

Really like the look of the IoW track on the route too fakenham1. I've never traveled the line so I wonder if there are any parts that have concrete sleepers instead of wooden ones? If that is the case then do you plan on leaving the track as the original 2D ones there (might not blend nicely) or will you do another reskin of the IoW track to suit those areas? Also, have you considered using the Highland Line's 3D track also? I find that the sleepers on the IoW track are a bit too thick compared to the ones on mainland lines, or maybe that's just how I see it...

Either way 3D track is something I always love to see on a route, so can't wait to see more of it :)

No worries Abclare.

Thanks again for the comments guys.

Tom, Norwich to Yarmouth via Acle is complete bar a bit of fine detailing here and there. Norwich to Yarmouth via Reedham has a long way to go as I've ripped out a lot of scenery which I thought wasn't up to the standard of the Acle route. I may just release what I've done so far as I'm finding it difficult to create time to do some proper route building - I have a lot going on at the moment. I'll see how it goes. Really like the looks of your route by the way.
Kev, thanks, I'll have a gander at the Highland track. Regarding this route, there are indeed a mixture of concrete and wooden sleepers but I believe the wooden ones are gradually being replaced. The footage I have from a few years ago certainly shows a mixture of the two. You can probably make out a mixture of concrete 2d and wooden 3d side by side in the above shots.

Here are a few shots from work done on re-tracking (if that's a word) Great Yarmouth station...

Just an update on the Birmingham route - it's still there and I do intend to finish this off. I have had issues with floating/sunken track and junctions - this is rather annoying but I will sort this out.
Cheers.

Wow. Again :)

Good to hear that Birmingham has not been neglected.

I've searched the thread but could not see an answer: is the litter your own asset, or is it already available somewhere? It's extremely effective.

Hi, firstly thanks for your kind words about my route, secondly I had to add a comment here as these shots really are great. As someone else has asked, the litter asset - is that a reskin of something or your own creation? I have been using the Liv-Manc litter assets for my route but adding a raised gravel area with the same packets is no where near as effective. Cheers.

Cheers again guys.
The litter asset is basically a reskinned loft where I've deleted the actual texture in paint.net and then added various bits of rubbish (newspaper, cans etc etc) to the loft. I've made a few varieties of these lofts in various densities to try and give it a non repetitive look.
Just a couple more shots of some retracking work - views from sidings at Norwich station..

Cheers.

Don't know if it's my age or what, but I am slightly confused by fakenhams route - Norwich to Yarmouth,
and the forthcoming route from AP. Will one duplicate the other?

Once again outstanding efforts to replicate this route.
What sort of frame rates do you receive in the busy areas such as norwich, does it impact the gameplay at all with having the 3d track

Cheers guys.

Davep, this route is not connected in any way with AP's route. I've a feeling their route will be on a much larger scale (Cromer, Lowestoft, maybe Ipswich). Time will tell.

Tom, I haven't completely replaced the 2d track with 3d. I've only replaced it in specific areas, mainly slow speed sections where I feel it comes into it's own. Where I have replaced it I haven't noticed much of an fps drop, which is surprising. I'm only running a mid spec'd machine as well, so it bodes well.

I've done a bit of work re-ballasting some of the Highland lines 3d track (thanks to Kev's suggestions above), specifically the concrete sleeper variety, to replace some 2d concrete sleeper sections of my route - I think it works OK. Here are some shots from Reedham junction showing the newly laid track..

And lastly some shots from Brundall junction. I must stop tweaking with things which are complete and concentrate on finishing the Reedham section!

I've said it once but I'll say it again; going by the screen shots, this (and Brian Yeo's work) is computer railway modelling at it's very best.

In my mind the icing that Fakenham puts on the cake is the attention to the vegetation layout which is so realistic.

If that same input could be added to the ongoing and excellent Riviera Line rebuild, what a stunning route that would prove to be - as it will be in any case, I'm sure.
