Atomic Systems

I am just getting back into route building but am getting frustrated with a few assets which 'disappear'. I have placed them in the editor (like any other) but when I save and come out some randomly disappear. When I go back into the editor they will only appear when I hover over their location with the mouse (providing I remember where they are). The problem assets have all originated from the UKTS download library with which I generally have no problems at all. They are not from one specific author, nor does it affect everything from one author. I have some that remain visible and some that disappear from the same download pack.

Is this a known issue and is there some way of correcting it? Any guidance would be appreciated.

This may be because you have not set the scenery level to 10 in the TS2014 graphics options.

Settings (Top Right Front Page)/Graphics/Advanced/Scenery Density

Have tried this and bingo - success - it's quite obvious really once you know (which I should have), and I won't forget in a hurry. Now that you have removed that frustration for me I have a related question - does this setting affect the game performance dramatically? (Hope not too much)

This particular setting goes way back to the days of Rail Simulator when some computers had difficulty in rendering some more complex objects so this setting simply stopped them from being shown in the game. These days I think just about everyone can run the game with this setting at 10 but if you use some of the 'default' settings offered, I note that the scenery setting is still kept low.

There is a lot to be gained from experimenting with different settings and you will probably find that a 'custom' setting will suit you best.
