Native Southern Railway steam era route?

Is this where the Light Pacifics with narrow cabs and tenders used to run?

This looks interesting and has lots of potential to expand.

I have downloaded and tried it but it gave me the good old SBHH when I tried to put a loco on it - running it through rwtools it complained about a misisng route template and I noticed the rwp only has a "content" folder and no "assets" - does it need the TemplateRoutes/Padstow.xml or any other assets to run ? Plenty of other assets are missing in my set up, but they can be easily replaced. I also tried in TS2012 (my default set up) , but it would not even load in the editor there.

One thing I did notice - are they the default Kuju semaphores you have used ? - if so , you might want to think about changing them either to the special Southern ones or GWR ones available from here before you expand too much further - they work so much better than the horrible default Kuju ones.

Still, I will watch this one with interest - well done !

Hello bart first thanks for doing the beginning of this route and it's FREE unlike some other people making them,I to have got problems as soon as I try to place stock on the the track and save it, it crashes and I have to take the route out again to get it going and there are assets missing a bus near padstow station, turntable, bridge outside padstow and a few other things thanks again.

Ok chaps thanks for the feed back . I do get an error when I run it through RWtools saying there is a missing asset folder but I have no problem with putting stock on or running scenarios. I will look into it and upload a new version when I sort it

Can you look in your Assets folder and see if you have one called barrie scales/Padstow please. this contains the root template

let me know and I will upload it

thanks

The line had 2 companies running into it . The Southern and the GWR so BOB and West Country Bullieds were used on local stopping trains and of course the Atlantic Coast Express from Waterloo which terminated at Padstow after splitting at Halwill Junction.

The GWR operated passenger and goods from Bodmin and China Clay traffic from Wenford Bridge.

Version 1.17 is now going online please let me know if it works ok

Hello all the route has not been released today by the look of it.
I found a web site called northcornwalrailway.co.uk which tells you quite a lot about this line with locos and some stock named it seemed there was quite a lot of mixed locos in this area it would be nice if we had more southern stock for railworks.
There is the adams class 02 made by Richard scott which is on the iow network route I suppose that could be converted to a mainland loco if he would do it.

I cannot get anything to load - trying to go in via editor to create a scenario. Crashes with any of my asset sets. Shame but I will have to give this one a miss.

Update

I ran the route through RW Tools and got it to list Providers and then told it to correct the Route Properties File. This reduced the size of the file from 26kb to 16kb.

The route now loads and runs so others might like to try this also. Tornados - you might want to do this before the next release.

Trying a run with a LP from Padstow. Looks a very promising start to the Withered arm so far. Did notice the track goes under the terrain approaching a bridge out of Padstow (which seems to be missing for me - by Styckx - cannot find in downloads library).

Now I have it running will hope the author continues to lengthen the route as it gives a great place to use my sadly underused SR stuff.

Found bridge under a girder repaint pack file UKTS_28775_UKTS_28304

hi

thanks for that but how did you check route properties in RW Tools I can't find an option to do that anywhere

I'm relying on people like you to get this working as it works ok for me but obviously other peoples installation is'nt the same as mine and things will be missing. those that just want to use the route will have to be patient until we get it right.

thanks again

Hi

In RW Tools select Check Routes, select your route and press the Check Selected Route Button.

This gives the usual missing assets list. Press Exit and it will offer to check for Shapes etc - say YES. Then on next screen there is a button on bottom right which offers to correct the route xml file. Select this and in a bout 2 secs it is done. It creates a backup as well so you can easily revert if you want. This removes all the unused providers which were being loaded which for many means a SBHH.

Let me know if you have any issues. I am still missing some Michael Whitely Stuff which I am guessing comes with Maerdy which I do not have?

Must say I am mightily impressed with what you have done and cannot wait until the route grows.
