Just stumbled across this route looking for some up and comers to run my collection of Northern units on. Looks great, can't wait for it to be released!

I am a relative newcomer to rail simulation (though dabbled with MSTS when it first appeared – not impressed!) – bought a copy of Steam’s RW (TS2013), some DLC, UKTrainsim freeware, and have been seriously impressed. I have modified some routes (using RWTools and RWDecal), including the (very long) process of regressing the WCML North to steam days (early 1960s), and will add the GWSR line from St Enoch through Kilmarnock to Dumfries.
My main project is to recreate the rail network in the Fylde, set in the early to middle 1960s – the end of steam and the start of the green diesels. Obviously, this thread is very much of interest to me. Nice work Tom! (As an aside, one of my grandfathers was a senior instructor with the Tram Department in the 1950s). So far, I have recreated the Marton Line and the Coast Line from Blackpool Central to east of Kirkham & Wesham (just short of Salwick), including all the sidings and utility works. From Kirkham, I will go north and west to Fleetwood and Blackpool North via Poulton. The area around Fleetwood was particularly rich in industries (fish, salt, chemicals), as well as steamer services, so ideal for interesting scenarios. On top of this, a summer Saturday saw several hundred excursion trains heading back and forth from Preston. Certainly keep the AI despatcher on his toes! The line will continue through to Preston (and beyond) so that sensible scenario start points can be set (e.g. local drivers joining as pilots).
I am using DLC and FP scenery objects at present, but aim to get to grips with 3D modelling (not done any for over 20 years) to build some of the iconic buildings of the area (at the moment, am using “place holders”). These will become available for the community use. If any one is interested, I can post some screenshots of the work so far. Though I now live in the Central belt in Scotland, I was born and bred in Blackpool (my sister still lives in Bispham). I have a wealth of research material to hand, being in the process of building a model railway of Preston and environs. I am now retired, and have plenty of time to devote to projects (had to give up golf due to back problems). I am more than happy to collaborate with anyone of like mind.
