I don't understand, if they are still working on it then why would you think that they would give you a WIP piece of rolling stock? If you want to use it you will have to wait until it's actually finished.

Wait until the route is released. Don't badger them, they are working very hard on their stuff which will be worth the wait....

Why should they share their assets though? They're under no obligation to.

They won't share, simple as. The VD team are very elusive about the route, if they hardly share screenshots there's no chance of any assets being shared. And I think it's the same for any dev, nobody (including myself) would give their hard work away to one particular person before everyone else, you'll have to wait like everyone else, or you could make your own if you can't wait.
