Re: Great Western Main Line: The Extension
I think this route is set in the mid 90s, but I'd love a route set in 2020 with OHLE throughout and with Crossrail

Re: Great Western Main Line: The Extension
Hi James,
Long time no see! Yes it's still the same address, thanks for the offer
Boris,
I used to live in Reading, amazing to see how much the station is changing - it's unrecognisable! They got rid of the lovely pale green footbridge
Unfortunately the route is set strictly between 1993 and 2010, if I start adding newer / current features I'm going to have to make a LOT of changes!
Maybe one day, but I've already promised to do a 70s / 80s version once I finish the present-day(ish) route.

Is a 1950s one maybe asking too much?jivebunny wrote: Maybe one day, but I've already promised to do a 70s / 80s version once I finish the present-day(ish) route.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

I want to say no, but yes. However I think I spotted a post recently which indicated someone was backdating the route to the steam eraDave4468 wrote:Is a 1950s one maybe asking too much?

Re: Great Western Main Line: The Extension
Been sprucing up the Eurostar this weekend. I'm re-mapping the entire model to make it more RW-efficient (since it was designed for MSTS) and as I go along I'm adding bits of detail to fill it out a bit. Today: new wheels.

Hi JB.. Excellent stuff, as usual
I'm curious: what would the difference be between MSTS mapping and RW mapping in terms of efficiency?

Hi JB
The Didcot Railway Centre track.
Is that a reskin you have done or does it come from another route?
Also great work your doing at the moment!
Hope everything is going smoothly.

Hi JB
This looks utterly amazing. RSC will be sitting there drooling over this
The Eurostar could be good for scenarios on that new Kent High Speed route, as either AI or for a service from Ebbsfleet to St Pancras.
Also, are you still including the 1995 Tube Stock with the route? If you are, I'd love to know how that's going

Re: Great Western Main Line: The Extension
Hi All,
Ruth: the existing model used a dozen different textures. The entire 20-vehicle setup now calls for just one 2048x2048 texture, which RW prefers to multiple files.
CR: The Didcot Railway Centre track is one of the WCML (yard?) tracks, it's actually the only track type on the entire route that I haven't modified.
George: Both the Eurostar and 95 stock will be provided with the routr, although I may upload the Eurostar separately as soon as it's finished as I'm conscious many want to see it running up and down Kent High Speed (myself included!)
I've posted these elsewhere tonight, but here they are again
JB

Whoa!
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.
