The Maerdy Branch Line Exclusive

I have a soft spot for Meshtools's Maerdy Branch Line, and that's "almost" to an extent, where I have been "spamming" some of the other screenshot threads, with a constant flow of Maerdy pictures.
That's why I have decided to make a "Maerdy Branch Line pictures/screenshots only" thread, with all kinds of everyday Maerdy shots.
Everyone is welcome to post screenies.

A lot of new pictures from the scenario 'Welcome to the Valleys' by Pacerfan (Samuel John Daczkowski) File id #30001, IMHO, an excellent everyday scenario.

I tried to swap the 56xx to the Meshtools' Jinty, but I couldn't get the numbering to work properly.
I'm looking forward to see whats coming .

Great shots it has to be said. Maerdy is one of my favorite routes, and I dont drive on it nearly enough.

Yeah its a shame about the 56xx, it was withdrawn just before a route that would have suited it perfectly came out. On the positive side the 57xx is still available in the Falmouth pack, and most of the rolling stock in that would suit the line pretty well.

Jinty isnt that strange a choice. During the War they draughted in some LMS machines to help on the GWR network, mainly shunters I think. Also, the line in gradient terms reminds me of the Pontypool and Blaenavon railway, which I seem to recall was a GWR/LMS joint. So in many respects its a line with a lot of potential. I really must get off my butt and write some scenarios for it.
