No doubt, it captures the gritty, coal mining environment very well, I'd say.

I wish I knew the secret to driving to Maerdy consistently. I've made it once or twice, at barely 2 mph!

Nice screen! depends on the load really tags.

Try mid cuttoff about 40-55 (60-75%) full regulator and keep and eye on the steam usage and generation, if you are struggling to accelerate still, slowly notch the cuttoff up until speed holds or increases

Thank you, kirkheath, I'll try your suggestions, though you may have hit it as the load may be a bit much. Sure is a great route regardless.

You can carry up to 20 empty coal wagons quite happy with the 56xx. Might even be a few more, the trick is to try and keep your speed, up, get in the right reverser position before you hit the really nasty gradients, and use the blower if you ever come to a stop in a station, to get the steam up. Keep the ejector nearly off, that will save you a lot of steam, and most important of all, open the damper all the way. Its the only way to get maximum performance out of the 56xx.

Thank you stuart, I guess I'd better get to know the 56xx more than I do to get the most from her. It's a brilliant model.

Claus, I'm sure I felt the heat from that fire after I had gone through all those cold shots. :)

yet another 2 posts removed from this topic, Not only wrong size and format, but also cross posted in more then one topic.

Surely its not that hard to get the first two right and NOT cross post screenshots...
