Hi all,
getting increasingly frustrated by scenario fail messages. When after completing +90% of the scenario and getting all green ticks come to the last task, complete that and that message or similar pops up and the inevitable x. I expect this on the usual "pedal to the metal" career scenarios but why are they occuring on standard non timed scenarios and how can they be edited to remove this tiresome feature. Nothing more annoying than after an hour or more, on completing the scenario you get the fail message and no explanation as to why youv'e failed.

Re: Scenario fail messages
You would have to give us an example of a scenario so somebody else could check it.

Re: Scenario fail messages
It happens widely on even untimed freight scenarios. Basel Bad is particularly bad (sic).

Re: Scenario fail messages
You normally only fail a scenario if you have not done what was expected in the time expected.
Sometimes it is down to a stopping point and if you stop in the wrong spot it fails
The is one on Köblitzer Bergland where you drive in to a Sdg then stop but id you stop further down the sdg near the signal it fails

Re: Scenario fail messages
A scenario doesn't need to be of the "timed" type to have "timed instructions". Look at the list of instructions for the player train in one of the scenarios that you've failed to see if any stops are set as timed, such as:

Do you still get a 'green tick' if you 'untime' a scenario?
Isn't there sometimes a message in each player train instruction in a scenario that says you did well, abysmally, arrived, or other instruction.
I click on the two people icon adjacent to Platform 1 (in your screenshot above) - untick the timing option and delete any message it contains.
I do that for every two people entry icon (whatever is it called) in the scenario, and never see another derogatory message about my train driving.
Have I got that right?

Re: Scenario fail messages
"Pick up passengers instruction" is it's name according to the tool tip thingy when you hover your mouse over it,peterfhayes wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:27 pm I do that for every two people entry icon (whatever is it called) in the scenario, and never see another derogatory message about my train driving.

Box A is for any general messages, such as instructions about where to go next, B for what is displayed upon successful completion of a task, and C for the message to be given if you fail a task. In practice though, box A is often not bothered with B being used as the "general" location.
Any passenger stop, stop at instruction (pointing hand icon), fuel or freight loading/unloading instruction, coupling/drop off/marshall (shunting groups of wagons to a single location), and informative text instructions/markers can contain messages, so not all messages are annoying. It's the timed feature that usually decides whether an instruction is passed or failed, but of course failing to stop at an untimed instruction will also count as a fail, as will not staying stopped until the timer has run down completely.
The scenario will still display a green tick in the menu listing upon successful completion, timed or not.
Basically, you have it right!

Re: Scenario fail messages
Thanks for the response folks. I know about the clock and by removing that (them), it seems to remove the timed scenario function. But still get the fail message, so going back into the editor and reducing the % value at certain points , seemed to have an effect on the timings and essentially the last stage timing value. Yet to try out what effect that has had on the scenario ending. Will report back after experimenting further.
