Amilly-Courtenay by Zawal. v1.3

Post by Kernow2 »

My trip around the world in search of interesting routes continues ..
Today I thought I'd download and install from Railsim-fr.com a nice looking simple French branch route 'Amilly-Courtenay by Zawal. 1.3'
Hmm... a few missing assets (Quel suprise!) but a bit of searching and installing and I'm pretty much there.
Lets run the route !
Oh dear, no track. Looks like others have been here too :-( RW Tools isn't giving me any clues..
Anyone here got any experience of this route and unlocked it's mysteries?
Happy not snowing here yet Sunday.

FWIW...

I note that the version on railsim-fr.com was patched in February 2018 - is that the version you have? There's also a well-documented BeluxTrains (Christophe Durvaux) set of scenarios.

Good hunting!

Yes John, That's the one. I was hoping to do some of the Belux scenarios. I suspect the missing files were part of the original download before it was patched !
Currently missing a greenhouse and all of the route stations buildings. What does the route need to place track down? Not being a route builder I've no experience in looking for a clue to what's missing - if there is a clue anywhere amongst the route files.

... don't know if this a good sign but I found some track at a station area at St Germain-des-Pres but only in the station loop and approach from a branch - then nothing more. A pretty route though - very French :-)

I also have the route and am missing the exact same assets as you (which would appear to be missing station signs). I do see the track however. Do you have scenery density at maximum? If not, worth giving that a try.

Nice little route by the way.

Yes, I have the settings at maximum - I also have some track in a station area but nowhere else.
I think the missing assets may have been from an earlier version. I found reference to a Petite Voie v1.0 by Zawal but can't find it on any live sites. I'm glad it's only the signs missing I thought perhaps it was the buildings themselves. I can't figure out the missing track issue though. Why some but not all?

Somebody will correct me but I think it is because the track is a *.bin file which then uses a graphics file for the track
If you have the bin file TS Tools does not think it is missing

That makes sense. So I just have to find which file is missing. I'm thinking that the earlier version has the answers. It was called La Petit Voie v1.0 which , I think means a branch line . I can only find that at a site which seems long abandoned about 6 years ago and was unable to register . The track is there just not visible. Maybe a broken link in the track.bin? Just guessing...

Do you have the early version somewhere John? La Petit Voie v1.0?

G,

Apologies for the delayed reply. I have been (virtually) in Belgium, seeking locomotives...

I have versions 1.0 & 1.5 of Petite Voie. I have sent you a PM.
