They have heard and are listening and are doing something about it.

That's different from the answer I received overnight which is that it will be discussed at the meeting on Monday.

Not when you've been to as many meetings as I have over the years...

Do you have confirmation that they will DO something. I have only heard that they will discuss it. At the end of that discussion, they may decide to change nothing.

Yes, we're looking into some kind of automatic update manager or tool that does what you're requesting.
Sadly we're not sure when this will be available though.
From the horse's mouth as it were.

I have also complained in the past and asked for them to produce update patches as an option, rather than only a full new download and installation every time they update. No response on at least two occasions.
They also produce huge manuals, and make no attempt to optimize them. I optimize them through Adobe Acrobat and generally get them down to around 1/3rd of the size with no loss of quality. I once told them about that and the response was to ask me how I did it! But nothing has changed.
Having said that, I recently asked for .bin and .Geo files missing from five overbridges or bridge supports in the MML Derby/Nottingham/Leicester extension, and they quickly sent them in an .rwp file with no question.

Good to hear and the right direction. Doesn't stop them from issuing patches in the interim.
