Wow, a new record set for AP's prices! At £29.99 you've got to like it a lot.
I wish they would offer a smaller range of subjects in their packs at a lower price.
I think I'll sit this one out.

It's a lot of money, but it looks like an amazingly detailed pack. Guess if its your thing, it's probably not bad value compared to, say, the equivalent OO gauge model. As a Northerner, I never really had much to do with these, so while I love the detail and effort, I don't really think I'd get the value. Maybe when it eventually arrives on sale.
Whether its for you or not, I think we could probably agree that its great to see products with this level of detail and functionality still being produced for TS20xx

While it's certainly looks like another quality release from AP I just don't understand why AP seems to prefer trains with no passengers, it is genuinely mystifying to me. The Mk2 coaches were the same, fantastic model and sounds but completely empty. It took several hours to add passengers to most of the coaches.

Which makes you wonder how they justify charging 29,99 for a train yet you the buyer are able to add passengers so why can’t they. Amazing really. If this was DTG or any other developer people would be up in arms about it yet as per AP different set of rules

Perhaps, but if you can't afford it it's irrelevant what level of detail and functionality it's got.

It`s lockdown so no non essential travel, trains are empty, It`s a bit of a trade off, no passengers looks odd, but put passengers in and it would look odd in a siding, unless you starting making two sets of stock, I assume AP is thinking if you are in the cab, where you should be (although I do tend to use the outside view a lot) you wont see any passengers, passing another service at speed you wont see them either, but stabled in the siding would be wrong full of passengersAllYourKitty wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 4:41 pm While it's certainly looks like another quality release from AP I just don't understand why AP seems to prefer trains with no passengers, it is genuinely mystifying to me. Out of interest how does the train work like that obviously the station has passengers so do they walk into the train then just vanish or do they not even attempt to board ??

Well, a massive pity that they don't have a green livery with no high intensity light on for our older routes, like the Class 205, these EMUs were constructed in the 1950s/60s, they've done the 'jaffa cake' livery spot on, surely they could have done a green livery without one as well, especially after they've announced it's taken them 3 years to complete the project, similar to the timeframe Railright took with their magnificent Class 40, how very disappointing.

Re: Class 411/412 - 4Cep/4Bep coming from AP
I'm sure I could find a fault somewhere or a livery or version that I would have liked. I'm a bit disappointed it's a Southern Region MK1 EMU and not an Eastern Region one. It doesn't come with a new dishwasher, which means I'll have to get that separately.
£30? Bargain, seriously. This is beyond TSW2 quality to look at and drive.
As much as I feel for those who can't afford it as I've lived in poverty before, things cost money to make, life costs money. That's it really.

Re: Class 411/412 - 4Cep/4Bep coming from AP
Wow, very good.
I asked a well known name about passengers in carriages and the answer was, in part, to keep the frame rates reasonable.
I am very tempted to get this but moslty for its looks as AI.
Please, could someone assure me there is a simple driving version I can just hop into and go.
I really dont want one of those trains where it only moves if its the 3rd hour of the 4th day and you are holding your nose whilst sitting cross legged on a wicker chair.
I think you know what I mean, option for simple or complex controls.

Here are the driving instructions from the manual. For the most part AP keeps the operation of its models fairly straightforward, certainly by comparison to some of the recent releases in other countries.
1) Move the brake handle to the full EP brake position (44% on the HUD) by
pressing @.
2) Turn in the master key by pressing Shift+W.
3) Move the reverser to ‘Neutral’ by pressing S.
4) Reset the AWS self-test by pressing Q.
5) Turn on the instrument lights by pressing I.
[optional: 6) If applicable, register the Cab Secure Radio (CSR). ]
[optional: 7) Ensure the headcode blind is correct.]
-8) If you have a proceed signal aspect and are in a cab fitted with a Driver’s Reminder Appliance (DRA), turn it off by pressing Y.
