All the above are route building tools that the author has used but not deleted after use. They will not effect the running of the route, just leaving a small "milk bottle" in various places. You can make these milk bottles more visible by using Mullys "Cooling Towers" or Wotatwally's "Pink Chimneys", and then delete them in the Editor

The briefest of looks at the Route guide would tell you that:
Ah well, there you go then....you are a very observant boy !

I'm just saying that when a new route is released, the best place to find any information about scenarios etc is likely to be the accompanying reading material, to which there is a link above - I'm just trying to help you to help yourself.
And I was a very observant boy 60 years ago....

I therefore post the full title and route number thingy
It doesn't matter whether an item is from the publisher's site or through a 3rd party store.
It isn't the files in the ..\Content\Routes\<GUID> folders that are needed, but the files from the required route's Assets folder.

Or just use RW Tools to get rid of the items, easier for many than diving into the Editor.

Indeed, but the last time I suggested that, the response was on the lines "I cannot use RW Tools"
However, in this case the poster can!

But as it's RW Tools that's reported them as missing...….
It's at that point that being totally PC goes out of the window and is replaced by plain speaking---learn how to or leave it!

I know you did, but if you read my post again you'll see that it referred to incidences of getting a "I cannot use RW Tools" response.
As John's conversant with using RW Tools there's no need to have him using the game's editor. The only time you'd need to dive into the game's editing routines would be if the *missing* scenery item(s) were scenario specific, which would have to be dealt with in-game at scenario level.

Personally the only thing RW tools shows as missing for me is the Riviera route template, but I have this route installed into a different content folder to the DTG routes. Whether this is significant or not I can't say, but no problems so far apart from having to tab past a couple of signals on the Kingswear line.

It shouldn't have a huge impact, much of the information the templates contain is duplicated in the files within the ..\Content\Routes\<GUID> folders. In the case of either of the 2 Riviera routes, the files won't be seen by RW Tools if they haven't been extracted from the .ap archive, but as you've no other items flagged as missing it's a fairly safe assumption that you've done that.
The old adage applies here--"if it ain't broke, don't fix it"
That would also apply to many with assets flagged as missing; if you can't notice the omission(s) when driving it's not essential to get a clean bill of health from RW Tools.
Could you just clarify this for me though:
holzroller wrote: ↑Sat Nov 14, 2020 4:36 pm….but I have this route installed into a different content folder to the DTG routes
By "this route" do you mean you've Riviera installed in a different folder to that it was delivered in, or does it relate to
this BHBP route?

So am I correct in thinking that no matter if I buy direct from JT or Steam (which is slightly more convienient) the route / scenarios / assets will all be in the same place and not matter if a subsequent route, like this one, needs them ?
Another question, related, JT are very good at sending emails re: updates, one can go then download and update, does this apply to JR via Steam do you still get updates ?
Thanks John

Basically, yes. You may find the odd ones that are in slightly different locations or have a slightly different name but essentially they're the same models.

Sort of....but it may take longer for those updates to be applied to the Steam distributed version.

As a kind of addendum to the excellent installation guide, the following information just missed the publishing deadline. It concerns the scenarios created by myself, [GH], as follows:
[GH] The Cornish Thumper Part 1
Guvs are no longer available from the source mentioned, but alternatives can be obtained from the DTG BRBluePack 02, or you could swap them for BG's.
[GH] The Alternative Devonian Parts 1, 2, and 3
Mk 2Coaches pack from Armstrong Powerhouse. This is the Mk2 D-F coach pack.
Mk 1 coaches from Just Trains. These are from the LMS Patriot -Baby Scot pack which contains coaches carrying The Devonian roofboards.
Part 3 only. The MJA wagons are from Steam.
I hope this resolves any queries. Finally I would like to emphasise that the scenarios I have created are definitely on a 'part fact, part fiction' basis!
Enjoy!!
Geoff
Hi Geoff
In the scenario 'The Alternative Devonian Part 1'
The Merehead Empties consist has in amongst the middle of the wagons a class 66 should it be there?
The class 66 used is this one: Class 66 Blue located in
RSDL\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class66\Blue\Engine\emd_66_blue.xml
It's also used in another of your scenarios as are the black, green & red variants, also some PGA wagons all from the RSDL days e.g.
RSDL\UKWagons01\RailVehicles\Freight\PGA\Variant3\PGA04.xml
I don't see the class 66 or these wagons listed in the requirements section of the manual? Are they from the early days release of the original class 66 pack that is long gone?
I've swapped them out with TS Tools but thought it worth mentioning.
Graham

Thank-you Graham, I have no idea how the 66 has ended up in the middle of the Merehead empties consist. It certainly wasn't there when the scenario left me! I'll have a word with the route creator and make sure the errors are corrected in the next upload. Thanks for taking the trouble to let me know.
Hope this hasn't spoiled your enjoyment of the route.
