I picked up the Merchant Navy and Eric Treacy, the only BMG Black5 I did not have yet. I one word, Stunning 8) Ben and staff did it again, the MN detailing inside and out is incredible. I have never seen a steam cab like this one. And like all BMG locos, the handling is surprisingly easy for such a complex and realistic simulation. Well done BMG, very happy :D, and Happy Halloween, folks!!

What’s the mogul like, as I’m tempted...
(but don’t have the met route)

Is it sufficiently different to the Black 5??

I guess I’d probably use it on Stainmore (prototypical or not)... also making some steam “era” scenarios for Welsh Marches (again, ignoring / taking a squint at the modern infrastructure)

Regarding the areas that the Stanier Mogul was active. At the creation of BR (1948), they were allocated as follows
6B Mold Junction
8C Speke Junction
5B Crewe South
7B Bangor
2B Bletchley
5B Crewe South
7B Bangor
5B Crewe South
6C Birkenhead Mollington Street
7A Llandudno Junction
5B Crewe South
5B Crewe South
2B Bletchley
2D Nuneaton
2D Nuneaton
5B Crewe South
5B Crewe South
5B Crewe South
3D Aston
2D Nuneaton
6B Mold Junction
3D Aston
6C Birkenhead Mollington Street
5B Crewe South
6C Birkenhead Mollington Street
6C Birkenhead Mollington Street
7ALlandudno Junction
8C Speke Junction
2D Nuneaton
8C Speke Junction
6B Mold Junction
6B Mold Junction
5B Crewe South
8C Speke Junction
6B Mold Junction
5B Crewe South
2D Nuneaton
5B Crewe South
5B Crewe South
7B Bangor

So mostly Midlands and North Wales.

Notwithstanding that, they were often seen in the North (I saw most of them going through Preston), so may have made the Stainmore on the odd occasion.

Nick

PS So could be used on "Steaming over Shap", and the route being worked on "Steaming through North Wales with the LMS"
