TS2021 & WCML Euston to Birmingham
Exciting news announced.
Yearly update, which is good news and proves there is still life in TS1, and what for me is an exciting new route. Although I will mainly be driving AC electrics on it I suspect!

Re: TS2021 & WCML Euston to Birmingham
So by that logic AP shouldn't have made Wherry Lines as there was already a freeware on in development, JT shouldn't have made Chiltern as there was already one released and DTG shouldn't have made Waterloo to Portsmouth as there was already the entire SWML released?brysonman46 wrote:Is there actually anything new here?theorganist wrote:Exciting news announced.

Even though the freeware WCML is okay that's all it is.
It lacks a ton of 3d models, has incorrect gradients, has some funky trackwork and is like 6 years old.

If you don't want the WCMLS, don't buy the deluxe version of the update simulation

Ive never seen a Euston to Birmingham route to buy on Steam before have you? It will work out of the box as well and not require a load of stuff I dont want so yes its new.brysonman46 wrote: Is there actually anything new here?

Re: TS2021 & WCML Euston to Birmingham
I suspect a lot of users may only get their add-ons from steam and a lot don't want to download several assets to get a route working, personally it doesn't bother me but I suspect it will for many.
You could ask how many versions of the stretch of line from Exeter to Paignton do we need? We have several.
I thought a route out of Euston would be inevitable, I suspected it would end at Milton Keynes or Rugby so this is a nice surprise.

You'd be hard-pushed not to have the DC lines as they run parallel all the way from Euston to Watford Junction.johnrossetti wrote:Life in the old girl yet !

The three other routes have been available for some time - I wonder if they will fix the German one before packaging it in TS2021michaelhendle wrote:If you don't want the WCMLS, don't buy the deluxe version of the update simulation

If you don't want them don't buy anything as the game is updated to TS2021

My word they kept that route quiet! Great news re Euston to Brum, a sizeable route and at last DTG give Birmingham some attention! Looking forward to this. Must have been a long time in the making..
Re: TS2021 & WCML Euston to Birmingham
Wonder if the Pendolino will be the old one by Ben Laws or the later one that was released separately in Virgin livery and then withdrawn? I guess the Voyager will be the one from the withdrawn North Wales route...
(Man what I would've given for a 90s version of this - they already have most of the stock for the era (Class 321, Class 90, Class 87...)

Very good news and what a great surprise for the WCML.
Day one buy for me and will bring some new life to the sim.
Yes there is a freeware one available but requires about 101 things to work at least this will work out the box.

Depends on how you define "free"...… It stated off as completely free for everybody, but somehow became just another revenue stream in part at least. A fully stand alone version is welcome news.rosschris10 wrote:there is a freeware one available

Re: TS2021 & WCML Euston to Birmingham
It's almost certainly the newer one. Wasn't anything wrong with it before apart from the Virgin Trains branding.USRailFan wrote:Wonder if the Pendolino will be the old one by Ben Laws or the later one that was released separately in Virgin livery and then withdrawn?
