So you are saying by "selecting "Vac-Pass" only enables the locomotive brake"
And "it was a Light Engine"

So why did you need the train brakes to work?

The manual says to run in "vac-pass" mode when running light.

Yes it does, but nowhere does it state that when running light engine you'd use the train brake rather than the loco brake.

It also says:
The manual wrote:It’s very important you set this correctly as failing to do so may result in only the locomotive having functioning brakes.

Did you try coupling to some coaches in the scenario to see how the brakes behaved then?

Yes, and they didn't. The train brake handle still only activated the loco brake. I had to set it to air-pass to get it to work, and these were the DT Mk1s.

And have you tried other coaches?--the Kuju ones, AP's own etc...
