Well that has certainly sorted out the Edge Hill issue.

Many thanks for all of your hard work keeping this great route updated.

A bonus to have so many scenarios available.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for texture fixes..I have not found anymore missing. I have run through a few scenario's and found a couple of problems.

(SP)9T97 0937 Ribble Sidings - Deepdale...After having re-assembled the train at Deepdale and preparing to run round at Deepdale departures the scenario abruptly ended with an AI collision "Preston Shunter"..I will investigate this further.

(SP) 8F80 0845 Walton OJ - Wigan NW...I get all the way to just outside of Wigan NW station..The work instruction is to stop at platform 6 then back into the siding to complete the scenario..The dispatcher routes you into platform 5 and there is no access to the siding from there so the scenario can't complete. These are the only ones I've found so far.

Thanks Again.

Hi Steve

Glad to hear that you are not missing any more textures.

Regarding the 2 scenarios. These have been tested quite thoroughly. The first one in particular. That was designed for this latest phase. The second one was published in phase 3, and again was completed successfully (I am sure that the instruction was for the player to go into platform 6, so the dispatcher should have obeyed). I will let the author know about these 2.

Hi Nick,

I have tried the 8F80 scenario again..I deleted my copy, download the 4.1 route again, then extracted the scenario and copied it over to my route/scenario's folder. The dispatcher still sends me into Wigan NW platform 5..Thus not being able to complete the scenario. I have not swapped or renumbered any stock with TSTools but run it out of box so to speak.

Sorry to be a pain.

Hi Steve, I have spoken to the scenario creator and had the following reply

"9T97 - my bad - sorry! The 'Preston Shunter' ended in the same siding as a static. We didn't detect during testing as I made the shunter tasks last a long time as didn't know when the player would get back to Preston. So when ever we tested it, we completed it before the shunter got that far in its task sequence.
I've cut the final tasks out for the shunter. Tested and ran the scenario to make sure the shunter behaves. "

"8F80 has a problem with an AI stand off at WNW station. So the path the UKTS player saw was really for the AI and not for the player's train. But the points are locked for the AI...
Don't know what has changed to make this fail now.
Will simplify and re-run."

Once we are sure that the revised scenarios are robust, we will put out a "fix"

regards

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the reply and thank the author for me for fixing them.

9T97 - I guessed that the shunter collided with the carriages in siding 5 and edited my copy and moved them to siding 4 but have not had a chance to test it yet.

8F80- The points are not locked against me and the path allowed me to drive all the way into platform 5..This may help with his diagnosis.

Thanks again

Steve.

P.S Are there any plans in the future to merge this with North Wales Coastal or will they always be separate routes?.

9T97 that should do it - though running through the second time you should be faster, so the shunter will not need to go into that siding!

8F80 - was a scenario for Phase 3, which we all tested successfully (the player train always went into P6.) We may have made a small change in Phase 4 that affected it. [SP] will sort it shortly.

We have plans to merge Crewe to Chester in the next phase (actually scheduled for phase 10, but if we can manage it means that we do not need to recreate Crewe!)
Andy & I have talked about a fuller merge, but that would not be part of SLANC (as we would be out of both counties!). However, it is on the cards for when we finish SLANC, to clone then chop it to Man Vic to Warrington to Chester to merge with NWC Chester to Llandudno. That is some years down the line (apologies for the pun)

Hi Nick,

Sorry i'm so slow..I was admiring the scenery around Preston..I even found my grandmothers house. Just north of Preston the line crosses a bridge and on the lefthand side there is house painted light blue..That was her house. I used to sit in back yard and watch the steam engines cross that bridge..that was many, many years ago when I was a very young boy.

Thanks for putting it in..brought back some nice memories.

That's a lovely story Steve, glad that it has brought back some pleasant memories - we are limited by the range of assets that we have at our disposal so it is rarely possible to find an exact match for an actual house but I try to at least use the right type and size for houses that were/are there ( one of the reasons that our routes take a while to create ), the one that I placed fitted the bill but I could not tell what colour the brickwork might have been painted in our period, today it is pebble-dashed and whitewashed..........was it actually painted blue when your Grandmother lived there? If so then I have to confess that the blue colour was luck and not by design. You must remember the nearby Steam Mill? I found some nice period photos and Nick created the painted signs for the walls, I was pleased how that turned out.

Hi Andy,

The house would have been dirty red brickwork back in the early 1960's when I was there..I can't tell you what colour it was in the 1980's as I moved south to Reading in the mid 60's and I have never been back since. Its nice to see Aqueduct Mill on the opposite side of the bridge..my gran worked there. The tower was actually on the front of mill if I remember correctly. It was also known as queens mill I think.I would have passed the old steam mill many times but it didn't really register back then.

Kind Regards

Steve.

There are a number of tiles around Preston and Wigan that have large numbers of lofts, roads and scenic items, so can take a while to render. We did try to ensure that the OHLE was the first to render, then the platforms, but "the game controller knows best!"

Hello,

I have found more missing textures, Some of the concrete cable trunking especially around Preston Station are lacking textures. There are also missing textures on OHLE poles, usually the ones at the end of the OHLE sections, It's small and easy to miss, looks to be some sort of sign that is the culprit.

Thanks

Richard
