Re: SSS SVR route
Might just have been here - I went into the scenario editor to check and only the right box was ticked - I tried to tick it there and boom OOM but I don't have triangles. If it's already there it isn't the problem. Are you using the original Island line disc or the Steam version?

Re: SSS SVR route
Mark,
I'm using the Steam version.
I went into the scenario editor in TS and loaded up the Pullman Departs scenario. I clicked the blue cube and got the right-hand fly-out but I couldn't move within it. It was showing the top producer and one product but I couldn't get the drop-box to drop. Not sure why. Perhaps that's a clue as to what's happening to produce the grey triangles.
John.

Any chance you could post a screen shot of what you see John?johnbarron wrote:Perhaps that's a clue as to what's happening to produce the grey triangles.

Attached is a screenshot (I hope) from the very start of Pullman Departs, after closing the instruction windows.

Re: SSS SVR route
I have reproduced the player consist for "Pullman Departs" on a Test Track and there is no sign of the grey triangles. So I don't think the rolling stock in the player consist is what causes the problem.

Have you tried using RW Tools to list the assets used (removing the duplicates first to reduce the number of results), then move those asset folders outside your TS2020 installation to somewhere safe, one by one, testing after each move until the glitches no longer appear?
That's how I solved my similarproblem - I'm fairly convinced from my own experience that one or more assets that th route uses are corrupted. One potential problem, if this is the cause, is that any future route downloads that include these corrupted assets assets can easily overwrite the working ones, causing the same problem over again, so make a note of what they are and avoid any future instalations of them.

Re: SSS SVR route
Best of luck John - it's quite a time-consuming process but worthwhile. If you do locate the culprit files, please post here - although I've previously found IoW assets to be corrupted in my installation, it would be very odd if these were the only files capable of corruption at source in the many years that they're been around.

Re: SSS SVR route
In the game, make a note of the location where you see the problem, then use the World Editor to determine the tile number that relates to that location.
Cut and paste every other Scenery Tile out of the route's folder, into a new folder on your desktop.
Use RW Tools to generate a report showing which assets are used on the route with only the single tile to check, which should speed up getting a list of "possibles"

Re: SSS SVR route
It's taken me a while (and the computer has almost been flung out of the window in frustration on several occasions) but I've found the problem but not the solution (yet).
In case it might help others in a similar situation, here's what I did:
I figured the graphical corruption has to come from one (or more) of four sources:
1. Assets used in the basic route.
2. Assets added as scenery by the scenario.
3. The player consist.
4. Other stock added by the scenario.
I created a Free Roam with a different loco starting at Kidderminster (the start of the "Pullman Departs" scenario that produces the corruption). No corruption, so that appeared to rule out 1.
I removed from my TS installation the scenery item files that the scenario adds. Corruption was still there, so that appears to rule out 2.
I placed the player consist on another route. No corruption so that appears to rule out 3.
I removed from my TS installation the files for the stock used by the scenario one stock item at a time until the corruption went away.
At the end of that process there were TWO stock folders that, if either one was in the installation the corruption reappeared. If they were both removed, the corruption disappeared.
The items were Matrix Trains' Hawksworths Set 1 and Toplights Set 1.
I had purchased these through Steam and it looks like they were both modified by Steam Sounds Supreme (can't remember how or when - any clues?). So I made back-up copies of both sets 1 and 2 of the Hawksworths and Toplights, uninstalled them through Steam, moved the remaining folders out of the TS installation and reinstalled them through Steam.
The corruption has reappeared!
Once again the computer is in jeopardy.
HELP. I don't know what to try next.
John.

Just which items John? It could be a wee glitch in the .bin files.johnbarron wrote:The items were Matrix Trains' Hawksworths Set 1 and Toplights Set 1.
Do you get corruption in a scenario in other routes if you use those particular assets?

Re: SSS SVR route
The stock used from Matrix Trains in that Pullman Departs scenario is:
MatrixTrains\Mt-Hawksworths - Set1\RailVehicles\Passenger\GWR Hawksworth\GWR 64ft HW-SleepingCar.bin
MatrixTrains\Mt-Hawksworths - Set1\RailVehicles\Passenger\GWR Hawksworth\GWR 64ft HW-Third.bin
MatrixTrains\Mt-P3-Set4\Railvehicles\Passenger\BR Chocolate Inspection Saloon\lms-p3_50ft-Inspection-Saloon_CC.bin
MatrixTrains\Mt-P3-Set4\Railvehicles\Passenger\P3-S3\lms-p3_50ft-Inspection-Saloon.bin
MatrixTrains\MT-Toplights Set1\Railvehicles\Passenger\57ft Toplights\GWR_C35_Third.bin
MatrixTrains\MT-Toplights Set1\Railvehicles\Passenger\57ft Toplights\GWR_D56_BrakeThird-LH.bin
MatrixTrains\MT-Toplights Set1\Railvehicles\Passenger\57ft Toplights\GWR_F14_Slip-Single-End.bin
The Mt-P3-Set4 items don't cause any problems.
If it is a small glitch in a .bin file then it must be in the originals that are up on Steam.

Re: SSS SVR route
Just created a consist with all of the Hawksworths and all of the Toplights on my test route and no sign of the grey triangles.
Could it be a conflict somewhere with something else on the SVR scenario?

Re: SSS SVR route
Just had a look and Pullman Arrival (no corruption), Pullman Connection (corruption) and Pullman Departs (corruption) all use the same Matrix Trains stock.
