Re: SSS SVR route
Ash,
Thanks for the reply.
Are you saying that even with the latest version of the IslandLine assets you don't get the grey triangles?
If so, that points to something else as the cause. other than the Isle of Wight assets.
John.

Re: SSS SVR route
No, I dfinitely did get those glitches using freshly-downloaded IoW assets. I tracked my problem down to these files by systematically removing assets then putting them back on by one. It took ages but I finally narrowed it down to IoW.

I've had a warning so they haven't gone for me.

I got an email from SSS on Saturday to say the route had been updated again - do you have the latest version?MrHillingdon wrote:I've had a warning so they haven't gone for me.ashgray wrote:It looks like the latest version of this route (1d) has removed the pesky speed limitations.

Re: SSS SVR route
I'm getting a bit confused (and a little frustrated).
I completely removed the IslandLine folder from RSDL\Assets and I still get the grey triangles. If it's the Isle of Wight assets that are causing the problem, shouldn't removing them make the problem go away?
Does anyone know where the reskins of the IOW characters reside? Did the author ever release an updated version that used the updated IOW files?
John.

Yes, so as it hasn't the issue isn't down to assets in that pack.johnbarron wrote: If it's the Isle of Wight assets that are causing the problem, shouldn't removing them make the problem go away?
The author, Michael Randle, sadly passed away before the IOW route was updated, however revised files are available atjohnbarron wrote:Does anyone know where the reskins of the IOW characters reside? Did the author ever release an updated version that used the updated IOW files?

but as they've been exonerated you've no need to get them.
(see http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... #p1820587)
Use RW Tools to generate a list of the assets used and we'll take it from there.

Re: SSS SVR route
Thanks for the continued guidance Gary. Just to eliminate the IOW assets as the cause I downloaded all of the original IOW reskins (to make sure I had them) and your fix and applied them. The grey triangles are still there.
I can't figure out how to attach a file to this post so I've taken the liberty of sending a list of the assets used (as produced by TS_Tools with the duplicates removed) to the email address in the readme for your revised IOW files.
Regards,
John.

Ta john, I'll have a look at that list later this morning...though these days it's usually only the rich, 25 year old leggy blondes I allow to take liberties with me
Do you also find this to be case?
Do you get the graphical distortion if you create a new free roam scenario with just the player train in it?---best to test around the area(s) you see the issue.

That brings the possibility that it could be a scenario specific asset that's at fault.flyingoren123 wrote:What’s odd is that in quick drive, no graphical glitches whatsoever

Re: SSS SVR route
So, a bit more exploration with no real conclusion.
I've been working with three scenarios, 1) Pullman Arrival, 2) Pullman Connection and 3) Pullman Departs.
They start in different stations: 1) Bewdley, 2) Bridgenorth and 3) Kidderminster
1) uses Taw Valley with GA regalia but no name plate. 2) and 3) used Taw Valley with nameplate.
1) has no visual corruption but 2) and 3) do.
If I change the player loco in 3) I still get the triangles.
If I remove the IslandLine assets completely I still get the triangles.
If I create a Free Roam starting at Kidderminster with a different loco there are no triangles.
I looked at the assets added at scenario level for the three scenarios, hoping that there was an asset used in 2) and 3) but not in 1), but there isn't.
The only assets not used in all three are:
\DTG\NorthSomerset\Scenery\Characters\EK_1950s_Driver2.bin - used in 2) only.
\RSC\WestSomerset\Scenery\Characters\In_BoilerSuit04.bin - used in 3) only.
Ash, can you run Pullman Departs without visual corruption with the old IslandLine assets?
John.

Re: SSS SVR route
John, look in the faulting 2 scenarios folder, the ones in ..\..\routes\<route GUID>\Scenarios\<scenario GUID>, and see if there's a Scenery folder in them.
EDIT:
Whoops....that's what you have done.....
, so rename the Scenery folder in one of the scenarios to Scenery.X and test it again.

Curiouser and curiouser!
I removed the Scenery folder from the scenario's folder for Pullman Departs and the grey triangles are still there.

Re: SSS SVR route
John - Yes - in fact, since I replaced my ISDL aassets with older backups, I haven't expereinced this phenomenon in any route. All three Pullman scenarios work (well, at least one of them is faulty but not because of this issue).johnbarron wrote:Ash, can you run Pullman Departs without visual corruption with the old IslandLine assets?

Re: SSS SVR route
It looks like RSDL Island line isn't ticked as a provider in my setup so that might be the issue.

Re: SSS SVR route
Mark,
I just looked at the route itself with TS_Tools and RSDL/IslandLine is listed as one of the Provider/Product combinations that is used in the route.
Or am I missing something?
John.
