DP Simulation - https://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/rf72wagons.html As I said the route should have been QD only, Other scenarios were included in error but are there for anyone lucky enough to have the stock, I'm reuploading the route at the moment, I will add stock requirements in the description, Both Fastline Tanks and the Potash JGA are on the page in the link, If the route uploads successfully I will test and upload scenarios individually with requirements listed

Thanks Mark. My problem was that the reskins aren't named the same as the wagon name so completely missed them. :) Found them now though.

I had the same issue first time I downloaded them, I've just uploaded my own JGAs, Or PBAs to give a bit more variety, These vary from ex-works to heavily corroded and loaded wagons weigh in at 93 tons so you should feel your train on the gradients, I'm following these up with open box wagons using the AP JXA Pack, Also some 4 Wheeled PAA using the DT model, Although I may use the cement hopper as a base wagon, Neither look quite like the wagons used on the branch but will do for now, Drawings are on my FlickR group if anyone wants to build them - https://www.flickr.com/groups/1902805@N24/pool/

Hi Mark T

I'm still missing the ground textures (this time, apart from the VP grass). Same goes for the North Yorkshire Coast route.

What textures are you using, please, and from where can they be obtained?

Ash

Just the bog standard Kuju textures, It's about all that was available when I started the route, The file is located in Assets-Kuju-Railsimulator-Environment-Terrain-Texturing.bin If the Texturing.bin file has been modified or lost they wont show, I tried modifying this file myself lastnight and managed to get new ground textures into game, I then copied it into my own directory and pointed the route properties to it, I was hoping to include it in an update to fix your problem but lost my terrain textures too and had to revert back

So see if you have Texturing.bin in your Kuju folder to start with and we'll go from there

Mark

A thousand humble apologies - what a complete clown I am! When you mentioned texturing.bin in your last post, I recalled that I'd experimented with trying out some ground textures from opther routes, in an attemot to get the original Paddington - Oxford route looking better, after first backing up the texturing.bin file. After the experient failerd to deliver noticeable results, I obviously deleted the replacement from the Kuju folder without renaming my backup back to its original name. Doh!

Now that I've fixed things and been able to appreciate your work, I have to say that both this and the NYC route are superb!

Ash

Thank you Ash, All is not lost, I've spent the night playing around with Route Properties, Template Routes, Terrain Bin files and I've managed to get my own texture set up working and been able to add to those in the default folder so as well Kuju I now have some from West Highland too

Only tested this on a cloned version of the route, However all seems well so I should be able to apply it to the public version, It means I can blend the West Highland track in the route with the ground better, There's plenty more I can add to improve the coast line and steelworks too, Also learned a thing or two about water tiles as I went, A steep learning curve and quite frustrating (a few white tile moments) but a bit more learned about how this game works, Glad you like the routes, They can both be much improved now thanks to you

Tonights project: FEV Coke wagons repainted as FEW Rocksalt container wagons, These were in use on the branch until around 1990, The containers are still in use as retaining walls for the salt heap at Middlesborough goods unless they have now rotted away completely, The yellow wagons are repaints of the BCO in use as internal wagons on Skinningrove works, at least one of these was saved and went to the NYMR, The shorter bolsters on the works were said to be the underframes of the Consett ore hoppers, they were often seen out in the exchange sidings,Usually empty but sometimes with a load stored on them during movements within the works. I'm rewriting my quickdrive scenarios so all my wagon repaints will spawn in the relevant sidings if you have them, if not they won't appear so no error messages fingers crossed

Since my first upload of the route I've been working away at various bits of scenery, I've improved the area where the line skirts the North sea, Smoothing out the cliffs and and coastline bringing the edge closer to the railway, I've improved the area around Crag Hall passing loop, Experimented with adding 3D trees close to the railway, I'll see how things perform before adding them to the whole route, Still a lot to do to bring it up to scratch, I want rid of all the 2D hedge lofts which look terrible, I've refenced everywhere to get rid of the Woodhead fencing which I didn't like, I'll post an updated route very soon and welcome your feedback, Consider it a public beta as it's far from complete and I'm sure there will be things I've missed

As the route is in an 80s/90s setting I've tried repainting a bus to suit, The sides don't look too bad but the mapping doesn't allow what I want on the front and rear, Not a bad representation though, My next task is to try and add custom road lofts so it appears in traffic

Hi Mark,

I've downloaded the latest version of your North Yorkshire Coast 2019 route and I must say it's a beautifully crafted route. I appear to still be missing some assets even though I have all the requirements. Do you know where I might be able to get these please?.

Assets\Lightblueworld\LBW_Lighting\lbw_lamp1.bin
Assets\Lightblueworld\LBW_Lighting\MTCoastal\lbw_stationlamp_blue.bin

Assets\RSC\Woodhead\Scenery\Roads\road_2_lane_w1_traffic_dated.bin

Many Thanks for the Route and Stay Safe.

Steve.

That's a mistake during packing, They were assets put together for me by Andy Gough, I think I've only used them at Ravenscar which is still W.I.P, The roads are used in Robin Hoods bay, They are from this site - https://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/utilit ... -tutorials and put custom traffic on the roads, I'm unable to progress with the route at the moment, It won't even load, I get the memory error so I can't do any testing at the moment which is why I ended up back on the Boulby route, Your missing assets shouldn't detract from the area between Whitby and Saltburn/Guisborough, I'll deal with it on the next release if the sim ever becomes more stable

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the explanation. As for the memory error have you ever tried the Wash and Go fix, Basically if you have Munich to Augsberg route load up the Wash and Go scenario in the scenario editor..don't make any changes..just hit the arrow to play..when it loads exit the scenario and then try to load your route. It seems to work on most of the memory intensive routes that I have and I only have 8gb of RAM. It appears to clean out the cache. If you havent already give it a try.

Steve.

They're very much the words of one who ain't got a clue about how the game works, or is using the chance to blame the game for the short comings of their equipment or configuration. As there are many (most?) running the game without constant errors the argument that the game is faulty holds no water.
pvtgodfrey wrote: It appears to clean out the cache
Which you can do from the settings option in the game, there's no need to mess about installing/running a scenario to delete cached files.
pvtgodfrey wrote:I only have 8gb of RAM
Which is enough to run the game with appropriate settings, depending on route/scenario of course, in use. More RAM is advisable though, 8GB being the absolute minimum to start making use of the benefits of a 64bit operating system.

I've cleared out the route folder, I had 140, I'm now down to 4, Haven't done the same with assets but I've managed to pack all the assets from the 2 routes I'm editing so I'll try running with absolute minimum in the folders and see where that gets me, No I don't have a clue how the game works, My equipment ran the sim fine until the last couple of updates, everything else runs fine and I've tried many suggested fixes loosing custom sounds and suchlike in the process, Any further help on the matter would be appreciated, You seem quite knowledgeable
