Thanks for the input. The engine has only about 20% water capacity taken. The scenario just said take water at x with a stop instruction at the platform. Tried adding a water tower at a statiuon further down the line making sure the marker was inside the green platform marker. No joy.
Just a wierd combination of route/loco/asset I guess. Will have to live with it
Are you saying the scenario must specify a refuel task at a named transfer point? If so then that would be the issue

Yes, one cannot just turn up at a point and take on water/coal/diesel. It has to be in the timetable.chrisreb wrote:Are you saying the scenario must specify a refuel task at a named transfer point? If so then that would be the issue

Re: Water points on platforms not working
OK that is my issue then the scenario designer did not say that - I will amend the scenario to make it work. Thanks
Re: Water points on platforms not working
It is not essential for the water tower ( transfer point) link to be placed on a yellow or green siding or platform marker in order for it to work.jp92214 wrote:Chrisreb.
Looking at the water tower at Appleby on the S & C line, there is the green platform marker then a short siding marker in front of it and the water tower link is on that.
Maybe the siding marker is what's missing here.
Hope this helps.
John.
However, I think it is good practice for route builders to do what you describe on the S&C line. It is also used for water towers on the Riviera 1950s route.

Re: Water points on platforms not working
Have amended scenario to have specific water stops so will test that sometime
Re: Water points on platforms not working
Rather than a strict 90% I think that it relates to the delivery rate of the tower and the capacity of the tender. I have a feeling from memory that if the emptiness of the tender is less than the delivery rate of the water tower then it doesn't deliver. I did have to play about with this when I was setting up the L&M water points but the exact rule escapes me now..
