What freight wagons....?

Post by smarty2 »

Does anyone know what JLR uses for their auto parts transport? Would they be VGA's Cargowagons? And are there any reskins that you know of?

Cheers.

I think JT's IWB Cargowaggons are the best fit. Haven't come across any reskins but I'm a bit out of touch with what's been happening in the TS world lately.

Where does the Auto Part train run to?

It might be possible to see a train by finding out the working and googling it

Not that it helps much...but "..the parts will be transported on specially adapted cargo trains" (https://www.landrover.co.uk/explore-lan ... plant.html)--but it may open another search avenue.

Thanks for the replies fella's, I've done a scenario from DIRFT to the Halewood car plant for the scousers. I have used JT's IWB's as a stand-in as has been stated they would be the closest fit?

What are the headcodes for the workings? I'm struggling to find any direct DIRFT-Halewood trains at the moment.

Aah, you don't understand the type of scenarios I am known for making! You wouldn't probably; They are non-prototypical shall we say! :D
Besides, I was going to start at some point on the WCLM London B,ham route but I didn't know a start point yard wise or link wise for that matter! So DIRFT it was!

Trains to/from Halewood (Jaguar Cars) go to Southampton Eastern Docks and route via Crewe Basford Hall, Nuneaton, Coventry, Oxford, Didcot, Reading avoider, Basingstoke and Southampton

On WCML TV they would be seen between Nuneaton and Stafford

I think these are the finished cars though - not sure what the parts arrive in

Thanks, Peter, It runs through near where I live at Darlaston Jctn! Be interesting to find out how their parts arrive, maybe all by HGV? Still, its a sim and anything is possible. :)

I suppose your other option would be to use container flats. Not sure if there's any container unloading options at Halewood, but I can't think of a good reason why car parts wouldn't be transported in shipping containers :)

No but i see no reason why the grey JT weathered grey VGA couldnt be used as they are fairly similar.
