It shouldn't be showing any decals Peter...so how exactly have you produced the static version?

Looking at the screenshot it still seems to me that a standard coach has been selected not a static object.gptech wrote:It shouldn't be showing any decals Peter...so how exactly have you produced the static version?

Re: rolling stock to static object conversion?
I've been having a think….which has done me no good, as I ain't used to it...
Peter... if you're wanting static assets to make a super realistic consist then you're asking too much. The whole idea is to produce fairly generic items to fill yards etc; items you aren't particularly going to examine but are there just to give the impression that something does actually go on at that location. If you want coaches that have the correct, and varied, decals etc just use the standard items.
The whole procedure is a quick, rough and ready, one to aid those with weaker systems---if yours sails by yards full of AP coaches then don't waste your time making static versions!

Re: rolling stock to static object conversion?
When you pick an AP Mk2 Blue/Grey to place in a scenario by default it shows all the possible decals.
As you save the scenario it only shows those applicable to the coach you chose.
Which brings me back to the question - if I created a static version would it show the decals overlapping, the correct version or none?
And you think you have problems thinking
Peter

I've just done one with the tso and the static version shows inter-city scotrail for me.749006 wrote:When you pick an AP Mk2 Blue/Grey to place in a scenario by default it shows all the possible decals.

Re: rolling stock to static object conversion?
From Skyine's image it seems that what's been displayed for the branding decal is, just like the numbers, the placeholder for the texture location. Easily removed by using appropriately named blank textures. The lettering could then be simply applied to the coach texture, or by using alternative textures (dependant on what decal is required) as that default.
As the idea of static stock is to produce items that are nothing more than rough and ready *fillers* why not use something simpler than the AP coaches?.....you don't need the correct sized windows etc on something you'd hardly look at!
