Re: SSS Stainmore route
If I recall correctly, there should be and update to J21 coming, which includes scenarios for the Stainmore route. I remember that it was announced back when the loco was produced...

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Is it possible to give the 4MT a single-digit shedcode, e.g. 9A?

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Very late to the party on this one, but I've been loving every minute I've spent on the route. The scenarios especially are really well done. I've really only found one issue with the route, which is that when the VP tree patch is installed the area around Smardale Gill viaduct is incredibly laggy as the entire forest there is made of the 3D versions of the trees. I'm tempted by the VW J21 that's on sale right now, as a smaller loco would be perfect for the line. I've got one question about scenario writing for this - would through freight have travelled over the Eden Valley line in the mid to late 1950s? There's surprisingly little info about traffic flows on Stainmore.
Re: SSS Stainmore route
Hi just recently installed this route and so far it is looking very good although i am not really impressed with the Ivatt loco on how it steams as i am finding it difficult to maintain pressure. However can anyone explain please as to what Performance Mode Is Off means when it pops up in the top right hand corner as i load up a scenario,i cannot see anything in the manual about this, or am i missing something? Thanks.Peter.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
I asked the same question for the same reason
The answer is
As to steaming, I think after you run for a while the engine gets warmer and responds better.gwrdevon wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 2:20 pmPerformance mode is provided for those with lower spec computers to get better frame rates. A number of locos have this option and it turns off certain effects such as the firebox glow for example.DaveDewhurst wrote:Anyone know what Performance mode is?
Every scenario has a popup telling me its off.
Nothing in the manual about it.

Re: SSS Stainmore route
In the Route Manual on page 5 it mentions the Standard 4 2-6-0 and the Advanced Mode On/Off is the Return Key
The Fowler 4F & Stanier Black 5 also use the same Return Key to switch the Advanced mode.
It also mentions "Advanced mode will give you steam chest simulation and realistic brake operation"

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Looking through the input mappers
Shift and P should enable performance mode (reduced effects for lower spec machines) on the E3 loco
I cant find any similar control for any of the other locos

Re: SSS Stainmore route
Thanks Dave for the reply i will just run the locos as they are because so far they seem to run without any real trouble,i just have to sometimes adjust my settings.I was just confused about the the box in the top right hand corner saying performance mode was off when running the Ivatt and Holden locos and not finding any thing in the manual about it.Thanks again.Peter.
Re: SSS Stainmore route
Hi Guys
I am trying out this route again, after some time away from it. One thing that spoils it for me, is the extremely complicated way of having to drive most of the locos included in the route. Does anyone know if there is a way that the same locos can be driven in what I call "easy mode"..ie like some of the other steam locos built a few years ago for trainsim ?
My 2nd question is : Has anyone tried swapping the locos that come with the route, for other locos, eg the DT Class 2MT steam loco. or the "Woodhead Route" Class 8F ? And does this work ok doing it in RW Tools ?
Thanks
Derek
