Re: Ashford-Lille from AHS and JT
I wonder if it will include the shuttle trains and some 92 hauled freight trains, otherwise, I think the route could be a bit boring

As for a 92, there's nothing stopping you using the DTG one for such a purpose but I don't expect it will be included in this package on JustTrains.
- also shown in previous pics on FB was a GNER-liveried Eurostar. Hopefully that will be included.

Re: Ashford-Lille from AHS and JT
If the Signalling Systems are different then the DTG 92 might not react to the AHS TVMxguerra wrote:michaelhendle wrote:As for a 92, there's nothing stopping you using the DTG one for such a purpose but I don't expect it will be included in this package on JustTrains.
Which will be a shame - I wanted to run the E300 to Marseille

I did that very journey (St Pancras - Marseille) in real life in the Summer on the Eurostar, only runs twice a week in the summer - Was something on the bucket list749006 wrote:If the Signalling Systems are different then the DTG 92 might not react to the AHS TVMxguerra wrote:michaelhendle wrote:As for a 92, there's nothing stopping you using the DTG one for such a purpose but I don't expect it will be included in this package on JustTrains.

However, if you aren't picky about cabs (and TGV cabs are pretty similar all round the different incarnations) it is not impossible to create set of hybrid locomotive and car .bin files that use the shape files of the TMST Eurostar and all the scripting of the TGV Duplex. That way you get a Eurostar train that responds to the DTG variant of TVM430 and KVB.
As I say not impossible but it wouldn't be straightforward to do successfully either. Plus you need to be careful not to copy/redistribute anything that is prohibited by EULA and getting permission from AHS before it is published is essential as well.
Re: Ashford-Lille from AHS and JT
Don't the original Eurostars and the TGV Duplex have pretty much the same cabs anyway? Or does the Eurostar still have a cab in the style of the 1st generation TGVs?

The driver's dashboards are essentially the same and everything else will differ slightly in size and position but I think you'd hardly notice.USRailFan wrote:Don't the original Eurostars and the TGV Duplex have pretty much the same cabs anyway? Looks like the Thalys cab might be closest: http://www.trainweb.org/tgvpages/images ... -43020.jpg

Apart from we don't have a Thalys in the game - just a repaint of the TGV DuplexUSRailFan wrote:Looks like the Thalys cab might be closest: http://www.trainweb.org/tgvpages/images ... -43020.jpg

That's the EuroDuplex cab, which has a different layout because it's quad-voltage and accommodates ETCS Level 2.749006 wrote:Eurostar Cab - https://farm5.static.flickr.com/4360/37 ... 268b_b.jpg & https://www.flickr.com/photos/njwsquared/11774089645xguerra wrote:The driver's dashboards are essentially the same and everything else will differ slightly in size and position but I think you'd hardly notice.USRailFan wrote:Don't the original Eurostars and the TGV Duplex have pretty much the same cabs anyway? The one we have in TS is the original TGV Duplex which is only a couple of years younger than the E300 Eurostars.
Depends which Thalys. PBA is based on the TGV Reseau, which we also have. PBKA sets basically have Duplex power units and Reseau coaches so that isn't too far off.749006 wrote:Apart from we don't have a Thalys in the game - just a repaint of the TGV DuplexUSRailFan wrote:Looks like the Thalys cab might be closest: http://www.trainweb.org/tgvpages/images ... -43020.jpg
I might go and screenshot the cabs in TS and that might serve a better comparison for what is trying to be achieved.

Re: Ashford-Lille from AHS and JT
Well as the picture that USRailFan posted was of the PBKA units (Duplex) I was pointing out we only have a reskin of the TGV Duplex in to Thalys livery. Peterxguerra wrote:Depends which Thalys. Not so. There's one cut out from the left of the picture you attached.749006 wrote:Well as the picture that USRailFan posted was of the PBKA units (Duplex) I was pointing out we only have a reskin of the TGV Duplex in to Thalys livery. Probably this one:

But back to the main discussion, from what we have I think the TGV Duplex cab is closest to the Eurostar.
