First of all could I say a Happy New Year to all forum members. I purchased The Welsh Marches Route today, ran about three partial scenarios all seemed good shut the PC down and came back to it this evening.
On loading the route I got the attached message. Thinking that it may have been one of the workshops I had downloaded I removed them, then the route, it made no difference, train sim will not load any route I get the exception code out of memory before it reaches any scenario page.
Any advice would be appreciated ,not had this before.
Regards Chris H

Have you run TS2020 in 64bit mode?
How much memory is installed in your PC?

Did you also remove the route's assets folder?

16gb, yes I always run in 64 bit. No I didn’t remove from assets.
I will do so tomorrow, thanks for reply.

Also clear cache then restart in 64-bit mode.

I'm running a fairly advanced/large PC (or so my PC guru tells me) and - like everyone else - am getting plenty of these crashes.
Using Task Manager to see what's running in the background, there seem to be lots of STEAM (tm) and other tasks there. I've found that TS2020 is far less prone to 'Memory' crashes if I use the Restart command and then run TS2020 as my first foreground activity. The first scenario I try is usually OK; thereafter things seem to silt up... again...
Let's hope that TS2021 (or, even, 'TS2020 Enhanced') reverses some of the not-so-smart changes introduced with TS2020 Beta.
Could be a GREAT New Year Resolution for Dovetail Games?
So, a happy and prosperous New Year to all! (
And, Dovetail, you know how to make that happen ... I hope!)

Thank you all for the replies, I took all on board, this morning I removed the BGM folder (Welsh Marches) from the assets folder as suggested by gptech , hey presto back to normal.
Now wondering whether to try reinstalling or ask for money back.
Thanks again.

I have tried reinstalling Welsh Marches but it comes up with the same result, removed it and the BGM asset folder everything back to normal . What's strange is ,it completely stops Train Simulator not just The Welsh Marches. Shame really it looked ok.

Was that a fresh instance of the BMG folder, or just the initial one swapped in and out of the game?
Have you extracted any the contents of the .ap archive containing the assets?

Yes it was a fresh one , no I haven’t extracted any .ap files.
Thanks for your help . I do wonder if something happened on the second time I turned on PC ie a d/load ftomSteam.

Quick question - does this happen at the point where TS is Saving the Scenario Database? If so, how many scenarios do you have? I regularly get this after I have installed too many new scenarios (often with routes).
Some people on here believe me when I say there is a limit on the number of scenarios that can be saved in the Scenario Database, and have the same problem - a few don't.
My solution is to remove route(s) with their scenarios until TS starts up again. I just move those routes onto another disk so I can put them back if I want to.

When you uninstalled the Workshop Scenario did it actually go?
If the Scenario is sat in the routes folder then reinstalling the route just adds it to the others and recreates the problem
Before starting TS2020 go in to the Workshop and make sure any scenarios for the route are unsubscribed.
Then go in to your Content/routes and delete the folder for the route if still there - sorry I don't know it's number.
Then restart TS2020 and try to reinstall the route.
Sometimes you think a Workshop Scenario is unsubscribed but it still is there until deleted from your system

00000068-b000-0000-0000-000000002016...but there's no need to delete it. The route is in a .ap archive, so any "extras* are sat outside that archive. All that's needed is a deletion of the external Scenarios folder you may have in there.
The Worksop can be a huge pain in the bum when installing scenarios--the download is fine, just the "putting the goodies in the game" aspect causes bother.
The alternative method, which so far seems to get rid of any chance of subsequent woes, is to rename your Routes folder to RoutesX, or something that makes Steam ignore it, sensing that you don't have all the requisites. Subscribe to a Workshop scenario; the download still goes ahead and you'll find it in:
..\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\24010\<seemingly random number>
as a.zip archive. Copy that archive to somewhere safe, it holds the scenario.
Unsubscribe from the scenario, it should delete that downloaded file but worth checking. Rename RoutesX back to Routes, open the .zip you copied and treat like any other downloaded item--just copy & paste into the game. The scenario will then show in the games menu with your *normal* scenarios, no need to go to the Workshop tab.
Which scenarios were they Chris?

Huge thanks to all who replied about my Welsh Marches Route problem, I followed gptech's advice and found four scenarios in the otherwise empty route folder, deleted these and downloaded Welsh Marches from Steam started up train sim and the route no problems. Just tried a couple scenarios partially all good. I think the scenarios were the four latest on the Steam workshop for that route, I shall be more careful in future and d/load one at a time, fairly sure I wouldn't have got there without your help, thanks again to everybody.
Wishing you all a Happy Peaceful & prosperous New Year.

….but let's not forget Peter (749006) who set us on the right track by pointing out the
potential issue (or rather
real issue in this case) with Workshop scenarios. This is a wonderful resource, not only for the pooled knowledge, but for the amount of support/trouble shooting that a large team can bring to the table.
