Steam Sounds Supreme how do you install Tornado sounds?

Post by tubemad »

Hello all,

Simple question, how on earth do you install the Steam Sound Supreme Tornado Sound pack V2?

I get the file which is PeppercornTornadoIst.msi file and a small update .txt file. I open up the .msi file and after agreeing to the terms, it just 'installs'. No option to select a path (my Steam is in D:/ drive) I have no idea where it ended up. Eventually I find in C:/ a 'SteamSupremeSounds' folder, with a 'TornadoA1' folder. In here is a TornadoSoundPackVersion2.msi file, so this is the installation I assume?
I open this, and it tell's me I need 'a special key', then it closes altogether :-? There's nowhere to put a 'special key' not that SSS have sent me a passcode.

Unless I'm missing something is there any installation manuals? Otherwise can someone please help me and tell me how I install this please?

You could go all techie and try this James...

To make life easier, you can rename the .msi package to something that's easier to type/copy & paste.

Once you have the guts of the package extracted, just copy & paste into your installation of TS...I don't have the pack but I'd put money on the RailWorks folder being the one to paste it in to.

Hello Gary,

Thank you very much for the response, I never heard of extracting .msi files!

I tried it on the TornadoInst file, and sure enough it extracted the TornadoSoundPackVersion2 installer msi file, the one that won't let me install it as I need a key somehow.

Anyway I tried extracting that file, and it extracted it with a folder 'RSC' and the relevant path to the Tornado folder. I put the folders in the appropriate path and pleased to say after a test in the sim, it has worked! :D I get the sounds and the headboard has moved to the top bracket too.

I didn't need a 'special key', it would help if there was a manual telling you what to do, but extracting it in the command got around that, thank you very much Gary!
