It's interesting that this might catch on
In March 2011 I sort of did one for my Grandson, its a little big bigger than one station I never uploaded it because I thought it might get "Looked" down on by the big boys, if anyone wants a play I'll attempt to upload it, it has about six scenarios using bog standard stock (44km of track Total)
It's called TableTop and was to replace his Hornby 00 gauge tabletop railway (I was learning so it has everything TS could offer at the time including a bit of 4 rail) :)
Cheers John

. . . and materialise out of thin air next to your cab at station stops!
Neither of these are any issue whatsoever - TS has the features to manage both. It is simply a case of poor use of the available tools if you witness this.

Well, here’s another that grabbed my attention...

Would love to drive trains in environments like these - but perhaps without all the “hostiles”... (1:34 and 1:52 :o )

However, as pretty as DCS looks - it does provide a salutary warning...
My route into simming was via combat flight sims and subsims - taking a long while to get back to my childhood / teenage interest in rail.

How come? Well, the purists’ dedication to “everybutton” simulation means you pretty much have to graduate from a military flight training programme to operate the kit :-(

I really wouldn’t want train simming to end up in the same space

The DLC is also considerably more expensive than TS2020.

However, DCS is a considerable achievement, if you like your sims realistic and demanding.

I'd like to see the sort of achievement that the new MS flight simulator does made into a new MS train simulator.

I like Pete's (Karma99's) idea - you could do a small shunting route like that. I'd make sure to get it if it were done.
