Routes that cause out of memory error

Hi all
Just wondering if there are any routes that keep cropping up that cause the game to crash with the out of memory error.
I’d be interested to see if it is caused by certain routes or is it a more random thing.
I always seem to have problems with the Liverpool - Manchester route throwing me out once I quit any scenario.
Just wondering what other people’s experiences are in this subject

The freeware/workshop extension of GEML to Norwich has been problematic for many: I've suspected for some time that the revised Tracks.bin file supplied with the extended route needed further revision, asn the rework I run doesn't have the issues.
If you're getting crashes after quitting a route/scenario it suggests that you have a lower lying problem than a dodgy game file---you've effectively flushed the game's files from RAM by quitting so despite it being *obviously* the route's problems it probably isn't. Could you check that it actually is any/every scenario in Liverpool - Manchester or just the a number you play. things like "Are they all standard scenarios or a truly random mix of types?" ; "supplied with the route or 3rd party?"; "payware or freeware?" --- all these variables need recording to get an accurate picture of what's going wrong.
Conversely, if you have a tiny number that cause no bother, what and where from about those is just as (if not more) useful.

Routes like Steaming Over Shap/Beattock always cause a crash when finishing and quitting a scenario. Might be another I cannot remember. I just live with it as I can finish or save the scenario fine.

Well, that proves a point - you cannot answer a question like the OP has asked. What gives trouble for one will not for another.
I developed both of those routes and have never experienced issues of that sort. So much must surely depend on one's PC and TS settings. But the specific instance of crashing at the end of a scenario is, in my experience, caused by a faulty asset. Maybe it would be worth re-downloading and installing the required assets again.
Try disabling the richardmaxted assets by renaming the directory something else. If that solves it, I can guide you further on that.

The silence is deafening.
Did that help?

i was having this problem on every 3rd party routes, and just 3rd party routes. Mines was caused by the AP weather patch, the one that replaces the ones in the Kuju folder. I reverted back to the original and all 3rd party routes worked fine, don't know if thats the problem for everyone. However i downloaded a few other 3rd party routes and other bits and pices and the problem has returned, still trying to figure out which download is causing it

Been ill so only just seen this post. When I get a moment will look it out and re download and reinstall and follow your suggestion thanks. Love the routes and they run fine - just the crash on exit

Sorry to hear you have been poorly. Try following my last sentence first (should have put that first!), if that works then you only have one set of assets to source and download.

Obviously something in my settings I guess. Reinstalled both - tried Steaming Over Beattock and also lowered SceryDensity but still crashed on exit. I can live with it though
Now trying the renaming the RichardMaxted Assets and will report back

Oh dear. I'm sorry to hear that.
Would you try one last thing for me. Go to
https://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/n-lincolnshire-route and download and install the asset mentioned under "Fix to prevent TS2019 crashing on exit". This is the fixed Richard Maxted file.
If that doesn't do the trick, it sounds as if there is another dodgy file out in the big wide world somewhere, but which exactly it is can only be worked out by time-consuming elimination on somebody's setup that is so-affected. Its something I won't be able to help with, I'm afraid, because I'm not.
Best regards,
John
