MS Trainsim had a program called, I think, Train Store, you selected what route you wanted to use and Train Store moved all the files around to make loading quicker, I'm surprised no-one has done one for TS20xx
I leave my Virgin/Steam version alone its exactly as Steam sent it to me. It runs at 102 Routes 1792 Scenarios
Its only TS2020 causing problems an identical virgin TS2019 running on the same PC (different drive) is fine. Same routes same scenarios.
Cheers John
Yes, just the routes John.
Mike Simpson did create a program, "StoreThem" - to quote from Mike's opening statement on his StoreThem.pdf
"
StoreThem is a utility, similar to ‘Train-Store’ for the Microsoft Train Simulator.
The intention of this utility is to only include those Assets and Route files in TS-2014 which the current
Route actually requires, thus vastly reducing the amount of work TS-2014 has to do when it first runs. If
you have downloaded a lot of 3rd party content and payware routes, there may be around half a million files
in your Assets folder alone !! TS-2014 looks at virtually all of them when it starts, whether they are needed
for the route you wish to use or not. Thus taking a lot of time and delaying start up.
StoreThem"
Mike stopped support for the utility some time ago, but I still use his method by manually moving routes around

. I never had the courage to store Assets as I was terrified that something might go wrong and as the backups were in the Railworks folder that didn't help me in keeping my installation as lean as possible.

Thanks Rod.
Yes I remember Mikes program I never had the courage to use it
Train Store did muck up my TS once or twice because I used to forget to put every thing back before back up or things !

Oh my goodness , don't ever click the tab of death (Workshop scenarios), just make a note of the name and route they are for and use the standard/career tabs to find and drive them. I've never had a problem with any of them this way, except when I forget to write down what they are and cannot for the li8fe of me remember, lol.

The original Post was "with TS2020 crashing when loading workshop scenarios, why should the community make them"
or are you just being a sarky Man fromt North ?
I think what we could be discussing is
The Scenario/Loco menu is still the same c**p as when it was introduced, why have a Workshop Tab if you can't use it ? although that seems to be a problem with TS2020 because it works fine in TS2019 and always has done
We could be talking about a work-round for those with bad memories (like me)
or I could talk about what a lovely morning it was at the Cenotaph
Personally I hardly ever use it (the menu) these days, I start most of my sessions from the build menu because it’s more logical.
For those with bad memories though I made a screen save of it so I know what I have.
It was a lovely day this morning although my legs felt they were going to drop off having had a walk round Aldwych station yesterday and you can't use the lift, actually we could talk about that ? no ? well here is a picy instead.
Nitey Nite John
