Nice shots!

I recognise Kevin's Hudson toastrack coach.
How well does it work for you? Last time I tried it, I couldn't move it about in the editor, for some reason it didn't allow me to select it.

And what's the coach just in front of the superbarns? (Shiny one).

Seems to work ok for me although I couldn't seem to select it either.
I've since been playing about and have added passengers and a passenger view, changed the couplings and added rolling stock sounds and it seems to be selectable every time now. Not sure why, it must make some sort of difference. As it happens I've sent Kevin a message about uploading my modified version, so hopefully I'll be able to upload it at some point.

Shiny coach - I can't quite tell myself, it's either 116 or 104 (a couple of Ben Vincers models from MSTS!) Projects in the pipeline there.
I'm looking at reworking 22 and 26 as well, just generally improving the texturing and naming to bring them more in line with other Ffestiniog stock.

Hi,
Was just wondering if there any scenario's for the Ex SAR Garrett LOcomotives, as I can remember them at both Port Shepstone and Pietermaritzburg when I worked for SAR/SAS in the 1970s

As the player train, not yet.
The WHR section hasn't been reworked yet and when that is completed eventually, I'm sure there will be a few scenarios featuring Garratts.

However, Garratts have appeared in the scenarios I made for F&WHR phase 1, either as AI or on shed at Boston Lodge.

A few things:

1) Huge thanks to steve P for phase 1. I spent a whole day just driving up and down. It is fantastic, many thanks. :D
2) was there a reason for deleting the platforms on the WHR?
3) can I add back the platforms (temporarily) without screwing up anything (like the future WHR Rework)?
4) looking forward to Carr 38, I too had problems with it so gave up eventually.
5) also I'm excited to see 116 and 104 in the pipeline, thanks.
6) after a quick look on UKTS, the only other F&WHR carriages I could see were 23/24, which I would love to see (not trying to pressure you trainmad, I appreciate that it takes ages and probably isn't very fun, but, if you ever find yourself with nothing to work on, these would be great ! :D )

Thanks,

DLG

Many thanks for your reply the Garretts were quite good at hauling freight trains in South Africa the Brakevans had 4/ 6/ or 8 passenger compartments,, the 4 compartment ones were all 3rd class. the 6 compartment ones had 2nd class compartments and 4 3rd class compartments and the 8 car ones had 1., 1st class. 2 2nd class. and 5. 3rd class compartments

A2) Not deliberately no, but just removing all instances of the loft asset completely from the route was the easiest way to start afresh and if possible reduce the requirements when released.

A3) Effectively yes but I imagine new lofts will be made/implemented when redevelopment on the WHR starts so they'll be overwritten when Phase II is published.

Thanks to Kevin Martin, I've been given permission to upload a modified version of Carriage 38.

 Click to view more informationFR - Carriage 38 [259281 bytes] - FR_Carriage_38.zip
File ID: 39358 Date: 17 Feb 2020 - 412 Downloads

Should hopefully be available for download soon!

Quick list of the mods are:

1)Passengers have been added, these are default KUJU ones which most people should have. A version with no passengers is also included.
2)A passenger view has been added, with "inside" and headout views.
3) The couplings have been altered so it now couples freely to Steve Pontins Ffestiniog stock.
4)The name has been altered so it is now more in line with other Ffestiniog carriage naming in the simulator.
5)There seemed to be an issue with selecting this previously in the editor. However, quite by accident this seems to have been solved. If you still have issues please do let me know.

Nothing spectacular modification wise, but another coach to add to the fleet!

Another quick heads up, another Ffestiniog Railway vehicle for you to enjoy!

[ukts 39359]

It's a conversion of the MSTS Ffestiniog Gunpowder Van which dates back to 2001, and uploaded with Kevin Martins permission.

Keeping in mind it's age it's not up to the same standards as new vehicles in Train Simulator 2020, but it holds up well and adds another wagon to the fleet.
Hope you enjoy!

Hi Chaps

I have no BR Tracks in the station at Blaenau ! The train from Llandudno Arrives floating on air..lol. I have ran the route through RWT, and any missing assets relate entirely to the Michael Whiteley Austerity J94 which is currently in my library. so I own it.

Can anyone help ?

Also on any uphill scenarios like for example the one from Tan y Bwlch to Tanygrisau, there is no way I can complete the long tortuous climb without running out of steam ! I have even reduced the length of my train by 3 passenger coaches. This lets me get a little further, but I still grind to a halt after a while. Am I driving incorrectly ? Has anyone completed any long uphill scenarios ?

Thanks !

For some unknown reason, you might be having a problem reading from the Austerity .ap file. So if you go to your Railworks folder and then go to MichaelWhiteley/Austerity and then extract the contents of the .ap file using 7-Zip or WinRAR, and use the "Extract Here" command. See what happens then.

Well as the person who wrote a couple of the scenarios I can say they are very completable, it's probably in your case a matter of having good steam technique. Do you use auto-fireman or manual? I would not recommend auto generally as you don't have enough control and it doesn't always give you the most efficient levels. And there are many ways of ensuring you do not waste steam and water, such as having the brake on running rather than released, and having the cut-off/reverser reduced as you pick up speed to keep the boiler pressure steady so you don't always blow off (waste water/steam) or drop the boiler pressure really low (may lead to stall).
