Personally I would be most interested in either the NSE or immediate post-privatisation eras.

I have a long mental list of routes I've always wanted to build, a BR Blue era Southern Region route is one of them (I won't say which one).
However, real life has meant I've only had the time to contribute to a single project, so I chose the Virtual District.
But once the upcoming Phase II of VDL is out I'll probably be able to turn my head back to it.

I'd definitely be interested in that period of route, especially since i've got a lot of the stock for that type of route already in the works.

Although the poll has only had comparatively few responses, based on the results so far I think the route I will progress will be BR - nominally pre-1967, but with potential to be used as a 1970s route. It will be fictional, and is most likely going to be (yet another) reworking of the freeware Norford Branch route.

The Southampton to Weymouth route could be made Electric as there were very few changes to the line apart from the addition of Third Rail and Substations
It could be set from 1966 where BR Blue worked alongside Southern Steam locos.
No more un realistic than a fictional branch line
I have a version of the Isle of Wight v7 which is set up for electric Running - just no third rail and the steam locos still running

The Southampton to Weymouth idea is a very good one! Might have to do that. As you say, not quite realistically permitting regular steam and electric running concurrently, not much concurrent running anyway. It's an idea worth pursuing though.
I will still progress the fictional route, if only for my own pleasure. I intend it to be double track, electrified, for anout half of the branch and single track, uneelectrified, for the second half. It ought to complement my almost-done pre-grouping version of the same route.

Have you seen the Casterbridge to Stourhead Third Rail (V1.0) - quite good with a lot of Southern features, 4 track running, flat and flying/diving junctions

I have a run on it every so often just to give my third rail stock a spin.

I've seen it, I have it, but can't say I've ever really used it!

I reckon the Hounslow Loop would fit every era from the thirties right through till to day,to make it easy start from Barnes then Barnes Bridge, Chiswick, Kew Brentford, Syon Lane Isleworth Hounslow, Nelson Rd Junction, straight on to Feltham,or branch left to Whitton,
St Margret,Twickenham. Richmond. North Sheen Mortlake and back to Barnes.
You can use all these the original 4 Sub's, Bullied 4 Subs, 4 EPB. 2 Bil, 2 Ha,l 4 Cig,. 455 and 450 deserio;s,oh and ill fated Junipers

Well, here's the non-electrified part of the fictional route - I've started at one end so will soon make a start on the Electrified section.
Much of the work so far has been sorting out the vegetation to achieve a neat lineside - Something which was surprisingly common even into the 1960s.
The electrified section will require doubling, so a bit more challenging though not too hard.
