Hi Martin, you can unsubscribe from the scenarios from within steam. Open up your library page, select the train sim page, scroll down to workshop, click the Browse the workshop button then when you are on that page, about a third of the way down is another row of buttons - Hover over browse then click subscribed items - you can uninstall them from there. :)

You could try a "Verify integrity of game cache" in Steam. Wont affect 3rd party stuff, but will overwright old reskins that have overwritten "official" files. That should get the game running OK

Thanks, Mark for that helpful tip. :)

Yeah, we know you have a fresh copy so are you saying even a fresh copy won't start?

So you haven't yet got to where you can say the game can or can't *see* inside .ap archives?

I had that a few years ago Martin, I tried everything from deleting Steam client files to removing and putting back of the Railworks.exe in hope Steam would revert to recognising it but to no avail. It took a fresh install to get everything going again which leads me nicely to my other topic.

If you are doing a complete reinstall, beware, the back end of last week I went to do a complete reinstall of TS so I selected "Uninstall" and it deleted everything, Railworks folders, the contents of...gone. In the past it only used to delete what Steam had originally installed and left you with a Railworks folder full of 3rd Party Content which was my aim so I could pick and choose what 3rd Party content I kept in the game. Thankfully no on going projects were too far along from their back up versions.

No, Gary, my ap. files still won't be read in-game.

Currently slowly and painfully reintroducing my backups after unpacking said ap files, it's going to be a loooong job. :-?

Could you please explain why you conclude that the game can't see 'inside your .ap files'. I've never heard of this problem before - I can definitely run any of the rolling stock that is included in .ap files.

RW Tools, of course, can't see inside .ap files, but that is another story/

That would explain why it can't read ap files if he has...

No, the last time the thread got locked because everyone was telling me it is impossible, even though I am insistent they still don't work.

So let's not go down the to'ing and fro'ing again.

It's certainly improbable, but as you're reporting that the game won't display anything that's in a .ap archive it's not impossible. It still, as it did then, means that there's something about your system that doesn't work in the *normal* way.
It's such a fundamental flaw that anything else after that isn't working *normally* could, at least in part, be due to this anomaly.
Pick a route that's in a .ap archive only, one you haven't extracted the files for yet, and load it into the World Editor. Post a screenshot.
See if any assets show in the "available assets" listing.
If you've already extracted everything just pick a route and cut the extracted stuff out off the game, leaving just the .ap archive, pasting those folders and files somewhere safe for now.

Just as an aside, why are you needing to extract everything if you have a backup of all your stuff?---surely that backup includes the extracted files?
