Hi,
Just checking my Ian Allens combined volume
9F wight 90 tons tender BR 1F Tender 55 tons, a Std 2 49 tons tender 4 ton, Std 3 57 tons tender 42 tons, Std 4 59 tons tender 6 tons, so the main locos used on the route are a lot lighter than a 9F

Ha ha. If you ever saw those matchstick viaducts you certainly wouldn't want to take a 9F across them . . .

This is tricky stuff...
I looked into it for Brecon & Merthyr - wanting to run GW blue as well as yellow dot locos...
Like Stainmore, a 17t ish axle load seamed to separate acceptable from the unacceptable. 5700 were two a penny at 17t axle load, but no 2800/2884 or Manors at just over 17t.
OTH, as posted above, S160, both WDs, 8F and 9F all <17t axle load - although the BR standard tenders were heavy...
So yes, min curve and total weight must also have been a factor - I’ve heard several times that 9Fs weren’t permitted into Cornwall because of the tight curves on / off the RAB, for example
Re diesels, Cl37s, at RA5 / 17t axle load were used on the BMR, and being lighter per axle than the 4MT 2-6-0 could perhaps be considered...
Have any diesel images surfaced for Stainmore???

Hi,
Was just wondering if you could use the 2MT and the Std 4 that came with the KWVR route, just to add a bit of variety to the steam locos on the trains.

All quiet again on this one...
Flurry of fB activities a few weeks ago, I thought it might have been inbound

The last post I saw on facebook was the 23rd of June which said it was coming out soon, it's now the 11 Nov and it's still not released, I'm beginning to think I will only believe what they say, is when I actually see it in their webshop.

There were a few fb posts from early - mid October, including shots of all the major structures on the route and some video...
All the sort of posts the normally suggest release is imminent
