Thrown Into Emergency at Signals - with PZB Deactivated

Post by rabidcirquefan »

Hello all, I'm a bit stumped at an issue I'm experiencing on the SFM Torino route, as well as third-party continental European routes in general, like the Marsailles-Toulon route.

I keep tripping the emergency brake system on my trains as I pass green signals, despite my train having their various PZB systems deactivated/forced off. In lieu of appropriate French or Italian rolling stock, I've used the DB (Metronom) Class 146, the OBB Class 1116, and Christrains' (V) IRM, all purposefully set with their PZB systems deactivated. Yet at random trackside signals, my train will still suddenly get thrown into emergency brake application with the reverser reset to neutral. I am frustrated having this happen to me multiple times per run! Does anyone have any advice for how to avoid this, or is this problem something I'll just have to live with?

PZB can cause problems on routes fitted with other signalling systems. TPWS grids for example are a known problem. You may have to deactivate the track beacons on the track associated with these assets to be able to drive the route. There can be similar problems with the Dutch ATB systems on non-Dutrch routes.
