I get an 0x5 exception error between Dorridge and Leamington Spa now. Happens in every scenario and loading the route editor. More head scratching. Is there any way of pinpointing what the problem is please? Logmate doesn't throw any clues. 64bit with 32Gb Ram. I have installed the base Chiltern with no extensions. I did a zero byte file search and got a couple of results within the JT Chiltern and common folders. Having temporarily moved them to check it still crashes.

Yeah, LogMate, but as that gives you no clues...… run LogMate again and post the last dozen lines or so of the report in here.

Thanks Gary,

If I drive beyond Dorridge going south, or Leamington going north - Or jump from the origin (Neasden?) to that area in the RE, scenery starts to appear. Then pop...

Code: Select all

Anything above that in the log is just the usual ribbon stuff.

Hi,

Just drove a QD from Bham to Lspa in TS64. While I didn't get any exceptions, I did get a huge amount of hitching from around 10 miles out from Lspa. It would suggest that there's either a massive amount of assets on the tiles in this area and/or that there are assets which are poorly optimised. Too many polys, huge textures, who knows.
Another killer is shadow casting lights.

My PC specs:
AMD 2700X
Azus Crosshair Hero VII
32GB Ram @3333Mhz
Nvidia 2080 Ti 11GB OC
C: Samsung 970 Pro M.2 1TB
D: Seagate Exos Enterprise 2GB
E: Seagate Exos Enterprise 2GB
F: Samsung 500GB 860 Evo

TS & TSW installed on the F: drive, nothing else.

I'm not into whatsit waving, I'm only illustrating that a high spec PC is having problems with the route at this location.

Hope it helps!

Yep...there's sod all of any use in that LogMate report!
Are you using 2D or 3D track Steve?

Steve
Have you looked at "View Reliability History" (a simplified version of "Event Viewer") - red circle white cross showing the crash - technical details and copy those to here.
If you can run "Process Monitor" simultaneously with TS 2019 and the route/scenario - I could look at the log file (pml) to see if there is anything that stands out.
I can post details on how to run PM if needed.

Many thanks for the pointers. I downloaded and ran Process Monitor. Railworks64.exe ended with a reference to a file in the Assets/Radio master folder. No idea why the route would load this folder, but having moved it out of the way the route has stopped crashing. Very baffling.

Is Radio master an auto-corrected form of Richard Maxted?

The Radiomaster folder has vegetation scenery in it. Mine is dated from the 16/6/2015. It is from Rail-Sim.de. https://rail-sim.de/forum/wsif/index.php/Entry/3241/

Indeed. I recall installing that foliage patch for the Garmisch route. It could be the case some Kuju foliage blueprint was altered to reference one of the Radiomaster foliage geos, perhaps. I'll have a look into it when I get more time. It doesn't explain why no other routes crash, and CL only dumps in the one place though!
