Richard
I bought directly from AP and those three folders and the files you list are present on my system.

Hi Richard

They're not in my folder, Wherry Lines was bought from AP on release. Having said that, I can see that the route was updated in august 2018 and my files are dated February 2016. I wonder if re-downloading and reinstalling the route would solve the problem

Thanks for that Alan, I am a bit perplexed though, as I just downloaded and re-installed the route from AP and they still do not show. I shall have to get in touch with them.

I've also done that, with the same results as you Richard. Very odd.

The AP acquired route will call for those files in the Kuju folder, they're only included with the Steam version to make the Steam version a single, complete item.

Quick test: rename your ..\Kuju\RailSimulator\Scenery by adding X or something at the end. Then run Cherry Lines through RW Tools. In the resulting list of missing items I bet you're find those same files....pathed differently of course.

That's fair enough Gary, but the Harrogate Loop manual says the AP wherry lines is required "the steam version should be fine" but the fact is it should be the steam version that is required as the files are not in the AP acquired version. Just wondering though how is it that the Harrogate route doesn't seem to be missing anything if it cannot find the Wherry lines assets?

Because the assets are small, thus not leaving a huge obvious hole and a bottle is hard to spot once you get 100 yards away from it. Look at the file names; all rural stuff so liable to be well away from the track.
RW Tools will show you which tile(s) they're missing from so just drop into the editor and go through one of those tiles carefully.

I presume that some of the missing assets would be around the area of the glitches I had. Still, everything seems OK for now so I am happy.

A missing asset can't cause glitches---if it isn't there it's unable to cause problems!

I was half wrong, or half right depending on your viewpoint....

The assets, or at least the Near_tree_Grp_01.bin (a group of 5 trees) one is from GEML.

Image

Exactly the same asset in both routes.

If you've copied the GEML tree to the Wherry lines folder without editing the .bin to suit, then that .bin will still be pointing back to the GEML located asset.
If you've copied the .bin, edited it, and brought the .GeoPcDx with it then you'll have a .Geo 'out of place' and DRM is liable to kick in and cause graphical corruption.
(I'd suspect the lofts as a more likely culprit, as they call for more than just a single shape file)
The better solution is simply to substitute the missing Wherry items using RW Tools to reference the GEML assets---first making sure that all of 'em are GEML assets of course.

Hi Gary, what I meant was the assets that I am now missing would be where the glitches were as I had made new asset folders and copied files over (probably from the Kujuassets) although I obviously had done that incorrectly. I am ok with not having the missing files as I can't see any milk bottles. I will probably still let VP know, unless they are looking at this thread already :D .

Maybe, maybe not....which is why I wrote

which was a pretty cráp explanation of what I meant or what I was driving at  (it all makes sense in my head, honest)

As the corruption has now disappeared it's definitely probable that it's was part, or contributory to, the initial problem.
As you can't see any obvious missing bits (that's why the word *missing* is there I suppose……) then it's resolved if not exactly rectified. If nothing else, it proves that an asset flagged as *missing* by RW Tools isn't always such a big deal, and that "you need...…to run this...." isn't absolutely binding.

I'm still going for a lofted item being the culprit though, I'll see what's actually used in those two locations tomorrow...maybe...hopefully...

Thanks again for your interest in this Gary, although I would still like to hear from more people that bought the Wherry Lines direct from AP as to whether they too don't have the missing files and whether they are happily running the Harrogate Loop without them.
