Using the re-skinned WCMLS 87 that comes with the AP class 40 pack, has anyone got the nameplates not working & the always on light emitter on the pantograph?

I edited the bin file and removed these lines

The Pantograph does not have a spark when down - or when running

Do a back up of your bin file first :)

I have the AP class 40 pack, where does the re-skinned class 87 live in the assets folder?

It's a reskin of the stand alone RSC Class 87 in \railworks\Assets\RSC\Class87Pack01\RailVehicles\Electric\Class87

I presume my mod works for other people as nobody else responded?

Thanks Peter, not tried it yet.
I wasn't happy the original class 87 brakes compared to a class 86, was this fixed?

You sure it's from the RSC 87 folder tree Peter?.... from what I can see the AP 40 pack 87s reskins (4) are all for the WCML2 loco.

Robert, which scenario is the screen shot from?

With Robert saying it was an AP reskin of 87004 it lead me to this folder
\railworks\Assets\RSC\Class87Pack01\RailVehicles\Electric\Class87\BR_Blue-004_AP

I also have a similar file in my WCML2 locos - plus 87019, 87021 & 87032 which I assumed installed with the AP Class 86/87 Sound Pack?
I thought the Class 40 Pack installed a reskin for the RSC Class 27?

I have the 4 AP BR Blue reskins in the WCML2 folder which were installed from the Extra Stock pack with the Class 40. I don't have an AP BR Blue in the RSC Class 87 folder. I do have the AP Class 86/87 sound pack.

I decided to try the Class 87 004 AP that sits in my RSC Class 87 Folder and nothing happened - no loco

So I tried the Class 87 004 AP in the WCML2 folder and I have a loco that appears in game and does not have the Pantograph Spark that Robert mentioned in the first post
And I'm fairly sure I did not alter it

Three of 'em I believe.

So if you can't see the loco, how can you say that it's that one that needs editing?

Think back to when we did the loco's/Pendolino with the panto down...http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... &sk=t&sd=a, which also might explain why you have a seemingly off 87 in the RSC class 87 folders as it could be an attempt to port the methodology over to that model.

Panto down 87:

Panto down, won't run anywhere, no sparks.

Raise the panto though, and it's just like driving a *normal* 87

The OP said it was a problem with 87004 which came with the AP Class 40
As I found a Class 87-004 AP in the RSC Class 87 pack I thought that was the loco with the problem
So I remove the lines in the bin file to remove the spark.

I was hoping having posted my finding somebody - the OP maybe - might have reported back which loco was causing the problem or even they had not found the loco in the RSC 87 pack.
I had not tested the Class 87-004 AP from the RSC pack which in hindsight I should have.

No he didn't...
RobertM wrote:Using the re-skinned WCMLS 87 that comes with the AP class 40 pack
No mention of a number, and the screenshot shows it as 87032!
749006 wrote:hoping having posted my finding somebody - the OP maybe - might have reported back which loco was causing the problem
OK, so you got the reverse... reporting which loco it wasn't.

Hindsight will make me a millionaire....once I work out how to bottle and market it...

Computer stuff Peter---remember to think literally, and be as sceptical at any findings or assumptions as you can, not only those of others but also (probably more so) of your own.

See what I mean? you hadn't tested it but posted

The Pantograph does not have a spark when down - or when running
and to confuse everybody even more....

So, you said it's definitely that loco, and that once the .bin file was edited it definitely didn't have a spark....but then say when you try the loco, nothing shows..... :o

Back to the opening question...
RobertM wrote:has anyone got the nameplates not working
As you might have gathered from the screen shots, I don't have that particular reskin installed, but the nameplate on the default model has a texture for the plate itself, and then the name itself is in the number textures folder. You're seeing the red plate, but no name so that suggests that the name texture has been set to one with a black alpha channel to make it invisible. If it was missing you'd get a missing textures texture showing.
As the reskins are of particular locos though, that suggests that the name textures are on the main body texture itself---do the other 3 locos have names?

Ok, I have learnt my lesson

And in Gary's style of posting where extra lines means more

I will look and check before posting a possible solution
