You were certainly right about the vagaries of the sim - I've just completed the Colwyn Bay Shuttle scenario but I'm not sure how! :o

On the suggestion of Deano55 above, I tried altering my settings to "auto-couplings" and ran the end of the scenario again from my save point just outside Colwyn Bay. However, i'd totally forgotten that the change in coupling setting would not be picked up by the sim unless I existed and re-entered the games and the scenario. I tried dropping off the tanks and four vans as normal, then trying to pick up the other vans and tanks without coupling to them immediately after contact (i.e. I let the consist roll on a bit, waited til I contacted the second lot of vans and tanks in their respective sidings, and only then manually coupling up). It worked, amazingly, and I was able to complete the scenario, but I'm sure that's not what was intended.

Keep at it please - it's a superb route, just a few teething troubles, but my accidental solution to this one makes no sense at all. :P

Ash
I wrote the scenario with that in mind - push the vans/tanks till they were all together, and then couple. It worked that way. Then one of the testers said it was a bit confusing, so I made the comment ALL in the text. I tried coupling at each stage (ie twice in a siding) and it worked (up to 4 days ago). Now it doesn't. I have coupled the tanks as 1 unit, and set a "stop at" in the siding. Still not working. Maybe I should try "auto coupling" (remembering to exit).

I feel for you - this sort of stuff must be awful after spending so much time on a great route.

I am philosophical about it. I enjoy a challenge. I will crack it in the end (even if I have to go down to Colwyn Bay and tell the driver to get a move on!). There is a nice hotel just to the south of the goods yard - I know the proprietor :o

Tried it with auto-coupling, but still no joy. I will have to rethink that part of the scenario

I am a newbie to this trainsim but I know you and your partner must have put in many hours of thought and your expertise in creating, I appreciate your good work for the benefit of others at the forum and hopefully I can progress myself to operating what sounds a lovely scenic route through that part of the UK.

Hi,
I would just like to say thank you to the team who have bought us another backdated route,I really appreciate the hours you spend on these routes, especially the steam era ones,Like Steam over Shap, and steam over Beatock.

Just a question have you ever thought of doing a back dated South Wales Coastal?,some where to run all those lovely Great Western Locomotives made by Victory Railworks.

I just have one problem, and that is with the class 101,I seem to have a different version,to the one you use.

But it's no problem replacing your version to my version with RW Tools, and the class 40,I use the DT one because the included one is so complicated, what with all the switching things on.
I'm not complaing though

Hi Mike

Thanks for the compliments. Someone else is doing regressions of GWR lines, so not for me. I have at least another 5 years of work in the pipeline at the moment.
In my scenarios, I use the later RSC\BritishRailClass101 pack, rather than the no-longer available RSC\Class101Pack (which is the one used by [SP]). For some scenarios you will also need the Freeware No-Passengers pack from Wotawally ( halfway down the page at https://www.wotawallysbits.co.uk/re-skins )

Colwyn Bay Shuffle
The scenario is now working again. I changed the pick up of the tanks from siding 3 to siding 2, and all worked.

The saga continues. I ran the revised scenario for a second time, and now the coupling in siding 2 did not register as completed. So, I now have a stop in siding 2, with a request to couple up before moving to siding 1 to collect the brake van. Have run this twice, both times successfully. Let us hope that this one has been put to bed!

Nick, its not the old problem of the sim duplicating the wagon numbers in your scenario, caused me a headache or two when making scenarios for my route.

Hi Joe - I had not thought of that as a possible solution. It is strange that it worked on some occasions, and not on others. Ash also had a similar experience with the first version. At least now the player can visit the right sidings and complete the scenario. They may as well pick up the wagons whilst they are there. Not a career scenario (I never create nor play those), so just an exercise in running a local trip freight (a year before they closed down the Colwyn Bay goods yard)

That's what baffled me Nick, and still does re the other scenario I'm having a problem with - on going into the editor, I could see no logical reason why either scenario shouldn't work fine. Baffled. :)

I'd like to add my congratulations and thanks to the team who produced this route - it is brilliant. Please treat my comments below as constructive feedback, not criticism.

While driving the [SP] 1A45 1004 Holyhead Euston eastbound I got a number of anomalous distant signal indications - in fact I drove it twice with the same problems.

1 Distant after Portal - Frith Up before Prestatyn was on with an AWS warning, although the next two home signals were definitely off at the at time, confirmed by viewing the 9 2D map view.

2 Distant after Portal - Presthaven Up and before Portal - Talacre Down was on with an AWS warning, although the two homes at Talacre were off.

3 Distant after Portal - Ffynnongroyw Up before Mostyn was on with an AWS warning, although the next two home signals were off.

4 Distant at Portal - Duke of Lancaster Up before Hoylwell was on but the AWS sounded clear - the Holywell home signals were all off.

5 Distant before Portal - Bagilt dn was on but the AWS sounded clear - the Bagilt home signals were all off.

6 Distant after Portal - Queensferry up was on with the home on the same arm off. The AWS warning was triggered but all the Sandycroft homes were all off.

Driving the [NH} 6M13 Sellafield - North Wales FNA everything went well until I got to Llandudno Junction, but then I couldn't trigger the location of the Llandudno Junction dn yard setback, so the points leading into the down yard wouldn't change. I tried moving through the area slowly stopping often, but nothing happened.

Hi route looks great, Dont know if it’s just my device or not but reading the asset list on your site it’s yellow text on a white background. Sorry don’t like moaning but it’s hard to read.

An update is coming out tomorrow, with all of these problems hopefully fixed (I was aware of them last week, and they were down to the DTG\NWC signals not agreeing with the Yelland ones). All the DTG\NWC distants have now been changed.

Regarding the FNA scenario - this has worked for me and my testers on numerous occasions! I will check again, though
