It's not VR Mike - it's done by VT - Virtual Tracks, the same people who made Berlin - Leipzig.michaelhendle wrote:I will probably get the route, but with Christmas coming,it will probably be in January before I can get it.
VR quality is usually very good so it will be probably worth the price.

That's just half the truth. It's noticeably better quality that Berlin - Leipzig, and I would say the route alone is worth the money. The BR 145 is the VR one in a different folder, but although I already had it, I don't feel hard done to. The ICE1 is the old one, again I didn't expect a new one at this price. If you want unique EL quality locos included you would probably be paying around 100 euro's.
Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
It´s a great route and i have just drove through it. It looks great!
The only issue so far is LZB that give let´s say 160 and then drops to 0 and after a couple of seconds go back to 160 again and then drops to 0 and after maybe 100-200 meters goes back to 160. Pretty confusing. This happened several times when i drove from Muenster. I cloned the Standard ICE scenario and replaced the ICE 1 with BR407 ICE Velaro so don´t know if it is the Velaro or not yet. Another issue is that a signal can show 60 Km/h at point A but when i pass the signal the speed never changes and stays at let´s say 110 Km/h until i reach the switch, point B, approx hundred meters from the signal, point A. If i pass a signal that tells me that the speed is 40 or 60 i expect that the speed changes at the same time i pass the signal. I saw this issue two or three times.
Apart from that it´s indeed a lovely route and i am sure that a patch will fix those issues soon.

Yes, Tim, the money monster has already chomped a piece out of mine!
I'm trying very hard to not let it chomp some more out for the new Crompton for TSW!

Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
I have to admit I'm quite enjoying the Crompton in TSW... Despite some people saying that one of the brake handles works the wrong way round.smarty2 wrote:Yes, Tim, the money monster has already chomped a piece out of mine!![]()

Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
I succumbed and deployed the money-fairy. Initial impressions were not good - it crashed when trying to load any of the scenarios. After trying reinstalling with no change I re-downloaded the installation file and it now works (crosses fingers). On an initial run it looks very well done indeed. My only criticisms so far would be the "glow in the distance like searchlights then suddenly fade into insignificance" signals and the usual German route TimeofDay look with too great contrast and anything in shadow almost black. I understand the general idea of how Timeofday files work but I cannot work out what controls the contrast (if such a parameter exists?).

Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
Can't say that I noticed the contrast issue myself, try swapping for the Wherry lines or something that you do like. There are two patches from Maik in the thread on Railsim de https://rail-sim.de/forum/index.php/Thr ... %A4ltlich/ one is for AI in the QD IIRC and the other is for those who have older freeware signalling scripts installed. An official patch will be forthcoming once any other issues are collated, it would seem some files were missed in the final release.
Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
re the updates in a very long thread; the QD is halfway down Page 7 and the signals at the top of page 10. Each to his own on timeofDay I guess (I will admit it is not as bad as Freiburg-Basel which is almost cartoon-like in the summer).

Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
There is no high contrast in that route. It uses the same ToD as Konstanz-Villingen, Freiburg-Basel and the Mosel route. It may depend on what weather you have selected. These ToD are made for using the Silverlining 3d weather types. Unfortunately the delivered scenarios are using standard Kuju weather for some reason

Thank you for that information.

Re: Virtual tracks Rollbahn
Following Holzroller's suggestion I have gone for the Wherry TODs. After backing up where necessary I have used the Wherry TODs (renamed of course), except for the first dozen or so lines which reference the skydome etc. The Wherry ones refernce GEML which I have in a folder presently named Assets_UK so couldn't use those directly. I have also used as a replacenement in the environment folder the four texture files in Environment/sky from GEML which to my mind look much better (avoiding those unrelistic massive cumulus clouds).
The route is certainly impressive - I can recommend the scenario with a consist of lots of 145s in the late afternoon which shows off lzb yellow-chasing very well. The first ICE scenario crashes immediately. The second seems totally impossible to complete on time whilst sticking to the speed limit (I ended up about 7 minutes late!). So overall a good buy as I'm sure some of the glitches will be ironed-out and scenario writers will do their thing ( the Flirt one already available is a nice local jaunt up to Bremen).
